It looks like this
backstory: savior told hwasin to lose this game to get paid, but hwasin won against luxury who was also match fixing. savior blackmails hawsin saying one of his elder friends lost 20k USD because he bet huge on the match, and that hwasin needs to make up for it by throwing more matches. aka savior is scum.
If I told my friend I would drive him to the airport but overslept and he missed his flight, I would consider I owed him something of a favor.
You owe him air fees, + opportunity cost (what that is, i don't know)
Can we use this thread to also talk about some conspiracy theories? + Show Spoiler +
Everyone and their momma knows that game 3 of the Nate MSL was fixed so that Jaedong, whom Hyungjoon was rooting for, would win the MSL. The Hanadaetoo finals were a piece of shit but i think fair. The bigfile was fixed (indirectly) by making 2 heavily TvZ favored maps (odd eye 3 and PR) so that at least one would be played twice, hence, fixing the Finals in Flash's favor this time round.

Savior vs Kal comes to mind as well. I believe savior started fixing after he figured out he couldn't keep up with the new star players, and found some guy who told him how to make some "extra cash", but everytime I watch this game, I'm like, hmm...

I swear I remember one match that luxury threw was on destination because he stayed on lair tech forever, I am crushed by the whole thing because this era was when I watched most of sc. Hwasin, luxury, yarnc, and savior were all my top favourite players, fucking crushed me. Savior is the reason why no one wants to sponsor a team now and the whole integrity of bw and maybe esports is threatened. One of the biggest reasons for the switch to the piece of shit game too.
Fuck.

He definitely threw that game vs Skyhigh, worst so-called 2-hatch muta-all-in you'll ever see.

I was going into that match with high hopes because skyhigh's tvz sucks dick, and you just see luxury just shit out a build order. Was so sad

Luxury was about to get married, then had to go to the military or something. Him and Yarnc were working in a restaurant before that.
Hwasin and type-b went straight to the army; no idea if they are out yet. Here is a picture of Hwasin in military garb (top right). + Show Spoiler +
I've heard rumors that Justin comes from an upper-class family, so he is probably 'fine'. I also heard Darkelf was detained in military prison for a while. No idea what happened after that.
Darkelf was released from the military some time ago. There was a picture of him last year, visiting Cloud's restaurant together with several other former ACE players.
Edit:
This is surprising to me Ryo, seeing actual players (Yellow and Reach included!) actually still remain of friendly terms with Darkelf.

Does this mean Savior and Luxury never admitted anything or apologized?
If so..wow, just wow.

savior referred to himself as 'Progamer Ma' in court even after he was forced to retire while others didn't have the nerve to. He denied denied until he had nowhere to run and posted an apology letter three days after his conviction on October 22nd, six months after the scandal came to light. it took 6 trials for savior to finally admit everything.

I can't believe this already has 5 pages. Personally I'm sick of the whole affair and I wish we could lay it to rest. It's not like you guys will solve anything anyway. Just forget it and move on.

I was actually wondering a few days ago among all those banned (aside from savior) which one of them would have been the best of them at SC2. Just always wondered stuff like that like which BW pro would have been good at wc3 and any other game etc.

I can understand you want to make it clear you're against people participating in match fixing, but your tone to me is sort of like that guy who tries too hard to make sure nobody would ever accuse him of being racist. Your words are good for riling people up or putting someone down, but your logic is weak.
Nobody said his being good excused his mistakes. It's also not factual that sAviOr singlehandedly destroyed anything. By many accounts Justin was equally responsible, as we know his exploits actually destroyed Sparkyz. Not to mention the brokers who came up with this to begin with? And all the other players who could have done the right thing and said no if they wanted? And you think there is no honor left in this industry because of one set of mistakes? That insults all the great and respectable players who are still around.
We can't measure how much damage different parties caused, how much was from a natural recession in the industry or from loss of interest because whenever Flash plays, we know the result of the game ahead of time. Okay, we're switching to SC2, but the industry seems alive. OSL has a sponsor, PL has a sponsor. I'm sure Ju Hoon will pull through for T8. The opportunities haven't been great for the low/mid-tier guys, but then, they've also had an entire other game open up. So look at it this way, rather than saying the industry shrank in 2010 because of the mistakes of a couple young guys, the industry doubled in 2010 with the release of SC2. I don't have time to hold a grudge with sAviOr because he can't hear my yelling on the internet and it won't bring anything back to us. But I do take some comfort in the fact that if I want to watch someone play pretty well, I can watch him playing games today along with all the other people still making BW content on the internet. And I definitely wouldn't not watch his legacy VODs out of protest or something? These are games that were played before he ever got involved. His story is still a part of this game, the good parts and the bad parts.

I think Savior is just being used as a scapegoat. Saying he destroyed the bw industry is a bit silly imo. The game was loosing interest and sponsors were seeing less and less returns on their investments.

From a personal perspective I don't mind talking about this issue. As someone who's looking to do graduate research in Korean ESPORTS, I enjoy discussing it.

loooooooooooool. so much wrong in this statement.
For me, the most depressing story is when Coach Cho (apparently) went one on one with Savior and asked, "did you fix matches"? Savior went on his knees and plead for his innocence. We all know the story after that.
I also wonder if Savior's knee problems stem from the Korean mafia knee capping him or something. Hmm....
I love and hate Savior with a passion. I remember his play and how speechless it made me... then I remember how he severely handicapped the industry I love so much and hurt so many people.... ahh.
Although many never will, I've forgiven him, but I don't think he should be making money off of afreeca. That's just wrong. But then again, he might not know anything else, he might still be stuck in a certain mindset, who knows. I can't imagine the psychological effect such a scandal might have had on him. To go from being a bonjwa to being the lowest scum in the same community...
