Basically a thread for you to show off your single best item. After I got this item I got the idea to make a thread.
+ Show Spoiler +
Bought for: $250.00 USD Estimate value: ~150 mill - 300 mill gold (godly items are hard to price) which is equivalent to 600-1000 dollars.
As you can see it gives me a 16k DPS increase from an already amazing weapon. Worth more than all my other equipped items combined.
edit 6/26/2012: Please don't talk about whether my purchase was worth it or not anymore (cause it was) and keep it on topic.Last edit: 2012-06-26 17:10:30 |

They're both real money. In any case, it was worth the purchase. Take this from someone who has over $3000 in their paypal playing this game. Gold = blizz money = real money. 250 dollars was a steal, and turning that into gold and back into real money would be a 500 dollar profit EASILY. Maybe 700 dollars or more. |

What has gaming turned into. People actually spending money like this for in game items. Blizz is so damn genius. They just made $60 from each person buying the game, then nearly another $40 from each $250 item assuming the seller sold with paypal.
My best item? No picture right now but a 1300dps 2hxbow with 70 crit dmg and open socket. And I didn't buy it. |

| To be fair that diff would come down a bit if you slotted the same gem. Also if you have money to burn shouldn't you splurge on a 90% gem? |

| Ok, why don't i see any 2k weapons anymore. If i am not completely wrong, those were around from weak 2 on. Still, people play insane amount of money for 950 dps weapons and in the next thread i read that you can buy a 1000 dps blue weapon for 100k. What do i miss? |

So you actually have enough money from selling items that you can buy RMAH items at full price comfortably?
My best items is a terrible 900 DPS 2hand xbow.Last edit: 2012-06-25 21:50:35 |

| I would think for 250 you could find something over 1100 dps with those same stats, or LOH/socket. |

Well he already said he could probably resell it for even more so what don't you guys get? That weapon is disgustingly good with the decently high base dmg + intel bonus + the sick high crit roll + socket (even more crit). My best item was a shoulders that I sold: 366 (+148) = 514 Armor 42 Strength 173 Dex 84 Vit 34 Psn Res 53 All Res +148 ArmorLast edit: 2012-06-25 23:02:11 |

Dude... man... I get over $3000 in my account every month for 160 hours of work. My guess is that it took you far more hours of D3 to get that much real money which means that its def not worth it. Plus blizz stole a huge chunk of each of those transactions.
Long story short, you got robbed, it was NOT worth it. |

I play them to have fun, not to make real money, which is why I said it wasn't worth it. I think your english has failed you on this one. |

Making money, even a little, from a hobby or somthing you just love doing - feels awesome.

As for my best item, while I don't think it's my most pricey piece it still is my favorite item. I used to play a tank barb and this really made the game way more fun for me: http://i.imgur.com/GHWDM.jpg I'm now farming act 3 so fast and easy with a 40k dmg barb :D

You based that whole conclusion on a guess? I hope you're not a private investigator.
And "blizz stole a huge chunk of each of those transactions" really means $1 per transaction. In OP's case it was $1 out of $250, which is 0.4%, a "huge chunk" indeed.
Oh, and just because it was "bought" doesn't mean the OP used real money. Believe it or not, you can actually sell items on the RMAH to accrue enough "money" to purchase other items on the RMAH. Shocking, I know.Last edit: 2012-06-25 23:42:21 |

| while I wouldn't spend $250 on RMAH, buying a spear with those mods may not be that bad of an expenditure because as long as Diablo 3 does not straight up die, I don't think the resell value of the spear will drop significantly unless Blizzard decides to make crit damage public enemy #1 now that IAS has been taken down many notches |

IMO this item is not worth $250, remember RMAH is capped at $250 essentially meaning the best weapon in the game = $250, and personally this is not. I do like the weapon but 150million gold is a stretch. Anyways here are my best items, not sure which is the best so I'll list:
Ouroburos 12-20dmg 143int IAS 6% LoH 414 Crit Hit Chance 4.5%
Bul-Kathos 77str 70int IAS 6% LoH 113 Crit Dmg 25%
Weapon - 1h Axe 977 dmg 169dex 88vit 77% Crit Dmg
How much gold you think each of these are worth??(Pretty sure I got good deals wanna double check) |

This post is so LOLworthy that I just have to respond. Blizz does steal that money, as soon as you move it to your paypal account, which he said is where his $3000+ resides.
And in order to buy the item, he did in fact have to use real money, its called the REAL MONEY Auction House. How he got the funds is irrelevant, he still used REAL MONEY to buy it. Shocking, I know =]
While it is cool to get paid for playing a video game, I was saying that buying a $250 item is insane, simply because of the fact that a real job will net you far more money. It doesnt matter if you used funds from previous sales, my point is that you could have made more funds with a real job and simply played the game to have fun.... especially considereing the amount of time that it *likely* took to make enough money to cover that insane sale. |
