I chose protoss as my race, and as a result of the probe hotkey being next to the 0, the 8,9,0 keys are usually my nexi. Leaving me 1-7 to select buildings or units with.
I macro using the camera keys, but I feel as though I'm not really being that efficient. How do the professional protosses macro? Minus)Eagle seems to use a few keys for his gates early on, as does Fold, just based on what I've seen.
Tell me builds to help me win, please. :)

idk about the pros, but I keep gates and/or robo hotkeyed until I have 4 of them, and it starts to become an issue. When this occurs varies with the build I'm doing, but it is nice to be able to macro w/o looking at the gateways. Especially early on, if you are reaver harassing; it allows you more time spent focusing on the drop.
1: scouting probe 2: random probe sent to build pylon / expo / gateways / etc... 3. Main Nexus 4. Gateway 5. Cybernetics Core (when building) then 2nd Gateway 6. Robotic Facility 7. 2nd Nexus (expansion)
Mid/Late Game:
1. Army (Dragoons/high templar/observer) 2. Army (Zealot / Dark Templar) 3. Army (Dragoon / High Templar) 4. Army (Zealot / Dark Templar) 5. Army (Dragoon/ High templar / Zealot / everything else) 6. Gateway 7. 2nd Nexus 8. 3rd Nexus 9. 4th Nexus 0. Forge

just get used to something your comfortable with, and you will become faster and faster at that, but it is always fun to switch things up a bit i do admit to that.
1: Nexus 2: Nexus (expand) 3: Scout (Rebinds it to my first initial zealots/goons once my scout is dead - if it is alive I rebind it to 4) 4: Gate 5: Gate 6: Robo
When I take my third I drop having my nexus on 1 and 2 since I usually start to have some kind of army at that point. I go F2/F3/F4 on my main/natural/third.
I rebind my keys to something like this;
1: Goons w/obs for clearing mines PvT 2: Goons w/obs for clearing mines PvT 3: Zealot (usually keep my shuttle in this group - PvT) 4: Units 5: Units 6: Robo 7-8: Obs/gate (honestly forget to use these two) 9-0: Forges (At least until i remember to upgrade constantly without having them binded) 0: Shuttle (I usually unbind one of the forges if I get a shuttle for reaverharass or stormdrops lategame)
In PvZ I do not have a certain system of grouping my units, but I prefer having one of the keys binded to 8 or 9 goons, 2 HT's and 1 or 2 observer to get rid of lurkers.
F2: Gates F3: Rally point F4: Newest expo (to keep probeproduction up if needed, add gates in PvT if it's a main, add canons in PvZ - use the mineral line to pull probes from other expoes if they are harassed)
I've emulated Bisu as much as possible with my hotkeys. So, my hotkey setup is as follows:
0:00-~4:00 1&2: Scouting Probe 3: Building probes until cyber core is built 4: Nexus 5: Gateway 6: Gateway
After Robotics finishes: 1&2: Building probes (or goons and obs if being pressured) 3: Tech building (maybe citadel) 4: Nexus 5: Scouting Obs 6-9: Gates 0: Robotics
Once I start moving out: 1-4: Army 5: Obs 6-9: Gates 0: Robotics or Stargate (for Arbs)
F-keys are set to main, natural, and third, respectively, until late mid-game when I need to reinforce my forces. If you're wondering, in the early game I use F-keys to keep up probe production.
Learning to use the f2,f3,f4 will help you become a more better player if you are able to master and get used to this save screen locations transitioning to terran will be very easy although I am not so sure about applying the safe screen for zerg which I prefer to use my hotkeys more to jump back to my hatcheries rather than using f screens . Good luck and have fun.
I'm not a professional protoss if that's what you're implying. >.> Eagle is an ex-progamer though.
His hotkeys are: 1 Nexus 2 Units (He uses 1-5 later on when he needs to do.) 3 - 7 Gateways 5 Robo(PvP, PvT) or Stargate (PvZ)
Not sure what his f keys are set at but it seems to be on the main, natural and third nexuses.
I do: 1 - 3 Units (Later on I'll use 4 and 5 as well) 4 Nexus 5 - 0 Gateway 8/0 Robo
F2 Main nexus F3 natural nexus F4 rally point
You can probably tell from all the replies in this thread that there's not one ideal setup. It mostly just depends on what works for you and what feels comfortable. If you have small hands don't feel like you have to use the entire keyboard. P7GAB(Wooki) only uses 1 - 5 and does decent in proleague.
Generally when you have to focus on micro or you're doing drop/reaver harass, you use your hotkeyed gateways to macro. When there's no need to do that then anything is fine.

0-9 Nexus. 9-8 Scouting probe - easy to check nexus and make probes while i micro my scouting one. 1 Zealots, or dragoons in tvt. 2 Dragoons. 3 High templar + other units. 4 Dark templar, shuttle, units. 5-8 Gates. 8 Starport, robo. f2 Main/gates when number is high, f3 second, f4 third expo.
There was a thread before with Bisu's hotkeys. Can't find it. Anyway, you can use different set of hotkeys for early, mid and late games. For instance you can start with hotkeying a nexus, gateways, Core, forge, scouting probe, a probe in miner line and units; then switch to something like 1-3 army, 4-8 gates + robo, 9-0 nexuses then start using camera-keys for gateways, 1-5 army, 6 - a gate in your third, 7 - robo, 8-0 nexueses
Everything is a remix. P: Bisu; T: Fantasy, Leta; Z: Zero, Soulkey. Teams: Woongjin Stars, SK Telecom T1.

You need to just study when to add on your gates/cut probes/build extra pylons so you don't get blocked. Even with 100apm you can max in 12minutes if you are not fighting
I don't need luck, luck is for noobs, good luck to you though
