Not to hate on July but if he couldn't handle gsl (he was doing baneling busts every game), how is he expecting to make it through these incredibly stacked brackets?
It's sad to say now that July is leaving for the military and NaDa retired but all the really old BW players who switched have become irrelevant... + Show Spoiler +
Well Boxer's "retirement" (he's not out yet) was pretty good considering he created one of the best SC2 teams out there. Nada was also really consisten in the gsl, staying in code S for so many seasons (but not winning, I think his studies conflicted a lot with practice). July was kinda dissapointing though I have to admit.
July got further than Boxer and Nada in the GSL. Does anyone know where the qualifiers are being held and if anyone can just turn up? I'm going to Busan later but if it's at Yongsan I might just stop by for a few games before my train leaves.
same place as code A quals iirc |

July? He made it to the finals of the GSL, got top 4 at both NASL and Dreamhack Summer, and even this year made Code S. It's a far cry from what he used to accomplish, but it's still very respectable, and quite honestly better than any foreign player. |

who's saying he's gonna qualify?
So then why did he go? You usually go to qualifiers with the goal of making it through...
are you serious?
Well think about it, even if he clears the first 2-3 rounds he will innevitably face one of the big shots (alive, mma, mkp, leenock, polt, etc.... ). If he couldn't beat them in the gsl he won't beat them here.
You want us to think about it, but what you are doing is exactly the opposite. |
