| I have an opportunity to translate some pages for a website, no idea what would the asking price be. I think it is about 1700 words that need to be translated and adapted to local standards. Any suggestions? |

I used to translate JP->EN for a website called http://www.mygengo.com. They don't pay the translators very well, so prices for customers like you must be cheap |

This is more complicated than just looking at the cheapest available rate for anything vaguely similar.
Do you have any qualifications or experience that would allow you to demand more? Have you worked for them before? Do you need to/have you set up a contract? Do you need the work and cannot afford to lose it?
This is a decision that you should be making yourself due to the nature of the issue : it's not important enough for anyone else to really care about, while being complicated enough so that you cannot easily explain the situation to someone else.

| I looked at the approximate rates and it seems like a horrible way to make money. Was hoping for a quick 100$ or so. |
