We finally managed to introduce Barcrafts in Cologne, Germany.
Our first event willl be the MLG Summer Arena on July 21st. The Bar is the "coellner" (Ubierring 22, 50678 Cologne; about 20m next to tram station "Chlodwigplatz") and we'll be starting around 6 pm.
To all the people from Cologne, Bonn, Leverkusen, Düsseldorf, Ruhrgebiet, NRW or wherever you are: Come and join us to impress the owner of the Bar and to show the world that Munich and Berlin are not the only german cities which are able to bring more than 100 viewers to one event. The more people come the better future events will be - so by coming over you're actually acting selfish ;-)
So be selfish, be egoistic, support the community and come to our Barcraft :-)
"I don't really understand why someone would focus so much on what they don't like, instead of putting their energy toward what they enjoy. Music is not politics. It is meant to be listened to and felt, there is no point talking it to death."
If it was a tournament with a bit more "athmosphere" (I personally don't really like the MLG arena's, i would've come for sure even though i live in the netherlands. Maybe next time! (dreamhack winter, dallas, providence etc)
We were first planning to do one for NASL Finals - but they didn't provide a schedule in time so we went for the Arena. The lack of (even vague) schedules is a big problem when planning BarCrafts :-/
But I hope the atmosphere comes with the Bar and the people there (and the games of course) nonetheless. You don't see the crowd during games and if people stand/sit close to each other, emotions spread well between people... We'll see. Our next might be for Dreamhack Valencia...maybe I'll see you then :-)
I think I was right - atmosphere comes with the people around - and everything was great because people like NovumSC were burning down the house It was a blast! Hope to see you guys again on another BarCraft :-)
I'll go to the Assembly Summer BarCraft in Aachen on August 4th. Anyone who wants to join me...?
I can only agree. I met people from the US or even Israel that were in Germany (or Amsterdam, which is still 200 km away) at this time and decided to come over for our BarCraft... Where else do you meet people from the other side of the world to talk about the passion you both share!? It was absolutely amazing!!! I'm so glad we have TL to make things like that possible and I am looking forward to organizing some more great BarCrafts!!!
