Hello Teamliquiders!
I want to start working out my arm muscles, so yesterday, I did 3 sets of 15 inclined push ups. I know thats not a lot, and I plan to improve.
My question is, Is it ok if I work out today? or should I give it a day of rest?
Thanks in advance for any guidance. Sorry if I am lacking any information, I am new at this.

Go be a piece of shit somewhere else. We all start somewhere. It's what he does with himself now that matters.
What a fuckin joke. |

I'm an extremely active individual in excellent shape, but hadn't done a pushup in like a year, I did 20 one day and was sore the next.
Go be negative on some other site, it has no place whatsoever in this subforum. |

Yea that kind of attitude isn't needed here. The guy is new to fitness and he just needs to learn a bit to get started.Last edit: 2012-07-04 13:25:36 |

| Yeah, read the stickies and all that. Generally it's best to be recovered before working out the same muscles again. |

Do you have access to a gym with a squat rack, bench press, and pull up bar? If you do http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/The_Starting_Strength_Novice/Beginner_Programs the original starting strength novice program will get you strong.. and fast!! If you choose to start it there's a couple of key things you should have in mind:
1. Focus on the technique of the lift before adding on weight 2. Eat. 3. Eat. 4. Follow the program 5. Eat.
Buying the book Starting Strength by Mark Ripptoe will help tremendously! |

| dont forget to drink lots of water. i know it prob sounds oversimplified or stupid but you need so much water to process the protein you intake and to fuel everything thats going on in your body which is a lot more when ur working out than just being idle. also keeps u from getting stretch marks and cramps. |
