Hi,
Tournament info coming soon!
Link to our chess.com group Team Liquid
Based on suggestions, I have created a group on Chess.com called Team Liquid. Anyone can join, If you are on team liquid go ahead and join the group. I will create and organize tournaments and team matches.
I will also be looking for admins of the group once we reach a certain point. If you have friends on chess.com or TL please encourage them to join as well.
Thanks for your support guys!
Original Post + Show Spoiler + I wanted to start a Chess thread because I would like find some people on Chess.com.
I've been going back and forth between a couple chess sites, but I like this one because I can play on my iPad, Android, and/or laptop for free.
Problem is I don't have any friends to challenge. Sure I can play Live games with random people. But I would like to have friends to play.
So here is my info:
Name: Diffyemo
Approx Bullet Rating: 1000
Approx Blitz Rating: 1100
Approx Standard Rating: 1200
Game Speed: I'm looking for Online games to play 1-4 moves per day.
If there is enough of us here, I could use this thread to organize a TL Chess Tournament.

| I'm not very good because I haven't studied much past the basics of chess, but I'd love to play sometime, I normally hover around 1000 when I decide to play every now and then. If I had more people to play with I would be a lot more active and would like to improve. My name on chess.com is cham1988. Last edit: 2012-07-06 03:35:51 |

My name is TL-Chocolate, my rating is 1387 (blitz) but my rating on this site can be pretty volatile (I've had it in the 1000's before as well as the 1500's on other accounts.). I normally play 10 minute blitz games but I'd be down for some correspondence if you want. I used to be about 1200 USCF.
If anyone has a premium account this could probably be a lot easier to organize by creating a group. Last edit: 2012-07-06 03:46:44 |

Great idea, I will upgrade my account if no one else has a premium account. I don't currently see a team liquid group. |

| Played a few games, got to 1613 blitz. Rather play on ICC. |

| ICC has better serious competition, Chess.com is more casual, which I personally like, even though I'm rated 1670~ USCF (which, don't get me wrong, is casual and I'm not deluded about that). For anyone under master level you can get great games without having to pay for ICC. |

Hey all, just wanted to post a thanks to Smancer for organizing this group; I just joined. I've been on chess.com for a few years, but have only ever used it for the 3 tactics problems a day so far (black coffee + chess tactics = breakfast of champions). I don't even think I played the "welcome game" someone offers you when you join :/
I see I'm a bit too late for the first tournament, but I'll keep an eye out for more! I'm not really sure what my rating would be, probably around 1300-1400? This might be just the motivation I need to start playing some actual games.
I play OTB with my wife regularly, but she's terrible and never wins, and against my friend from high school occasionally, but he's definitely 1800+ and I never win. Save me, TL brethren! |

Cool idea. Motivated me to go back and play a game. Used to be around 1900 FIDE but haven't played OTB for years. I'm probably around 1600-1700 level now.
Don't really like correspondence games but if someone organized a weekly 15/10 or longer rapid tournament I'd definitely play. |

Hey guys,
I play on Chess.com regulary, here's my info:

I used to be a fairly active chess player over-the-board, but I've been inactive in recent years mainly because at my level (2200-2300 ELO) it became too work-intensive. But I do still enjoy occasional blitz and bullet games online. Hit me up for games if you like.
You should also check out my blog (link in signature) where I wrote many pieces about chess and its similarities and differences with SC2. |
