For example static works really fucking well in titan quest (played through each act probably in the realms of 100 times, it doesnt seem to get boring, at least for me anyway), and randomised worlds worked fine for d2. But at the end of the day it's just the same bits of world stuck together in different ways anyway, although there was some (small but real) feeling of exploration and what not, personally I dont find it much of a problem in D3. That said I wouldnt mind it be randomised either if people would prefer it (not that it will be changed now though ofc).
I agree strongly that some more quests from townspeople or randomly in the world would be beneficial, while not hugely important on its own it adds to creating the ~atmosphere~ of the world (and ofc just being more enjoyable in general).
Lol my friends and I all refer to it as zerg creep too :')
Act 4 very visually repetitive, 100% agree. I reeeaallly hate timers, but for a certain part of it maybe it would have added something.
Overall I think some good ideas and some other things that are far too minor to worry about (as you state at the end), especially given the current state of the game, all these suggestion vids and documents though I wonder to what extent they will have an impact. Atm I think I'm just filled with false hope things will improve.
Yeah cauz Titan Quest was a gigantic, epic game. You really thought you were going on an adventure.
Completely shits on D3 as far as level designed is concerned, even if its totally static.Last edit: 2012-07-06 20:10:24 |
