I like the Gp10 one, this way with runes you start out with what almost 8gp10 at the beginning of the game? Plus the extra ward or pot you can get from the extra gold one is pretty good.

Depends on the support, personally I like taking extra starting gold when the other team has an early ganking jungler like Alistar. It helps you deny junglers that need early ganks to be relevant mid to late game, and all for a few mastery points. |

% XP gain is sort of hard to judge properly. I feel it's better than Greed, but it's really hard to tell. In general I feel like a Support leveling up like 30 seconds sooner is a bigger deal than the support having 50-70 extra gold.
Looking back, I think I was probably a bit harsh on the comparison with movespeed, given that 1 gp10 per point vs. 1% MS (old Greed vs. old Swiftness) was close enough to be a playstyle preference, and both masteries got halved in effectiveness.Last edit: 2012-07-12 07:13:51 |

| i love movespeed in utility. ofc the gold value may not be very high, but the difference in play (i.e. being able to lead up cc esp mid apz without having to flash esp on the ones without additional mobility such as TF) that it allows early heck all game is worth it imo. other stuff is a lot more easy to itemize for |

% XP in jungle is either worthless or really good. The thing is, you don't get XP continuously in the jungle like you do in lane--you get it in discrete amounts given by each jungle camp--so the only time it's actually meaningful is if a specific amount of +%XP is paired with a specific route to allow you to hit a certain key level 1 camp sooner. An example of this was Warwick being able to hit 6 one Wraith camp sooner in the old jungle, but I don't think anyone's done those kind of optimizations with the new jungle.

| +XP on assists is really good on supports, % XP on supports is SOOOO bad. % of a low number is a low number. uhg, idk, I feel like there are so few now or never moments with level timings that % XP gain is worthwhile over just delaying the fight for your level or fucking dealing with being back a level. |

I don't see the need for wasting mastery points on extra starting gold. "I get to start with an extra ward" is really driven by people unconsciously feeling that they NEED to start with a Faerie Charm, when in reality Faerie Charm's actual performance in lane is really poor. Everything that Faerie Charm does in those early levels can be accomplished with mana pots, and opening up 100+ gold from starting with mana pots instead of Faerie Charm opens up WAY more gold than the starting gold mastery. |

I think on Soraka and Janna 0-9-21 should be standard. For offensive supports such as Alistar, Blitzcrank, Leona, and Taric, I run a mix of defense and utility when emphasis on movement speed. I also use MS quaints on these supports. |

I don't waste my starting gold on wards that I'm not even going to place before I buy my philo, I just open 1 pink, 1 green, 1 pot, and stockpile for early philo. |

yea, ok, so here's the trick, literally no one ganks bot for the first 4 minutes of the game these days. it's always warded. so, break the meta time, cut a corner and say fuck it, don't ward, they don't gank, voila, profit, you hit reverie mad early.
