Hi, I'm helping my brother build a pc and we're encountering a booting problem. When the PC is plugged in and I turn the powersupply button from off to on (0 to -), the PC turns on for about 5 seconds then turns off. The power button on the case does nothing. Right now I have everything in except for the GPU.
What could be causing the power supply button to turn the computer on? I put together my own PC a while back with the same power supply and everything worked fine.
Case: ROSEWILL| RANGER RTL Mobo: ASROCK|Z77 EXTREME4 Z77 1155 R Powersupply: Antec 25 Earthwatts 650W CPU: Intel Core i5-3550 LGA1155 Ram: Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600 2x4GB HDD: Western Digital Blue Caviar 500GB GPU: EVGA Nvidia gtx560ti
Thanks a ton for any help, really appreciated. |

| That could be a wiring issue. Did you double check that everything is connected correctly? |

| Did you use standoffs when you put the mobo in? Sounds like it's shorting against the case. |

We're idiots, it was shorting out on the case. Hopefully nothing is damaged but it seemed to boot up fine for now =)
Thanks guys, this threads done for now... at least until the next fuck up x) |
