kim, it's best to just ignore stupid feedback. Of course it asks something of you as a mapper to have enough confidence and competence to know if feedback is stupid. So that piece of advice is deeper than it sounds.

The real question with this map is does it add anything to the Crevasse/Calm Before the Storm genre? It's more compact than either of those, and mirror instead of rotational. But like those it has one path into all 3 bases. Your arrangement of the pieces that dictate how easy it is to get 3 bases is nice, like the clever zerg buildings. But the essence of the map is the same -- 3 bases is obligatory.

You could totally rearrange the main/nat/third to provide 2 entrances, with or without rocks, etc etc. Or you can try to tune the map as you have it now, with rocks on the main ramp and whatnot. It's definitely a genre that needs to be explored more, as monitor hinted at. And part of that is it really needs high level testing for any features that vary from the conservative "standards" the basically every map uses, or it's just imaginary balance.

In any case this has good ideas, keep working on it or try to use them again in a different map. =)

Sort of. A bit like that in terms of positioning, but still with a backdoor ramp to one base with a blocked path into the nat. I think monitor or someone had already suggested it, I just agreed with the idea and elaborated on it.

I think it's quite different, because if your natural is gone then your third is as well. Also there are all these different things that you mentioned, you can't really say it's the same thing. However, I'm working on a new layout of the 3 bases, hopefully it'll be more balanced.

CruX Heaven doesn't have a nexus wall FFE. It has a mineral backdoor and a normal FFE choke. And Dual Sight sucks.
