I'm done with tube. This is going around in circles and wasting time. His current approach to responding is making my head hurt.

I'd suggest we leave him alone until tomorrow morning to see if he is in fact capable of making reads. There's 11 other players to analyze and conclude whether we think they're scum or town. By no means does this imply I'm giving him a free pass. If he hasn't come back with something meaningful by lynch time tomorrow, I'm likely to be joining Jingle's (present) company.

I'm still waiting for Fulla to show up for real. Almost 24 hours now since his Welcome Everyone post.

I'm here!!! I am continuously reading. It seems if you use this excuse it's very cliche and scummy, but I'll say it anyways. I'm new (2nd game) I get a bit lost what to do day1. I feel is I try to give reads (noob ones), I'll only assist the scum.

I'll try to contribute, it seems tube is gathering suspicion. Si I'd like to ask.

From reading a few guides, it generally says the overly active hyper day1 posting guy are usually those who turns out green town, even if actually being unhelpful and detrimental to the towns efforts.

So question. From other games, have overly active 1 liner posters commonly turned out scum before when lynched day1? Or when lynched/killed further down the line?

I'm back for a few hours now, until deadline so I'll try to respond to everything.

Tube
I don't think he's suspicious simply for posting 1 liners, it just comes across as an eager noob trying to play the game to me. When challenged and asked to stop tube he responded and tried to improve.

I think it comes down to 2 things:
- What are the realistic chances of him flipping scum?
- Should he flip town, do we atleast learn anything, such as accuser X/Y are 100% scum then. So we get them after. or the blues know who to check.

This is why I asked my question as whether statistically over eager/excited 1liner posters in the first 24 hours, do they usually flip scum? If like 90% never do, I'd lean strongly to not lynching him. I atleast thought this was a relevant question.

Next up Obvious..

There aren't enough fingers to go around at this point. I will share a few thoughts before I sleep, as I may not make it back in time for any further analysis. Seriously, the town play needs to improve overall or we're going to mislynch tonight. It's awful that I am reading more scum than town.

> tube still has my vote. Don't just look at the filter, it's better to read the actual thread when looking at him. Very few quotes to address the accusations against him in his responses will make analysis of tube troublesome without going through unfiltered.

> YourHarry: Highly, highly suspicious of this one. Not because he voted for me, but because of HOW IT WAS DONE.

> JingleHell is suspicious to me for his constant attacks on what words are chosen: "Wait and see" -- "Under the bus" conversations, where intent was pretty clear and he chose to always take it in the most negative context possible. He's railed on Calgar and me fairly hard.

> Fulla seems to be lurking hard. Brings up a point of inquiry for some irrelevant statistic and probably goes to sleep.

> Calgar: My gut tells me town.

> Mufaa: Two posts. One starts analysis with the promise of more. The extra analysis is nowhere to be found. However, his line of reasoning regarding JingleHell seems to be spot on so far today.

> drwiggl3s: No scummy feelings here, yet.

> Evulrabbitz: Lurky, but lives in Sweden. 7 hours ahead of EST, if my just-before-sleep math is any good. I'm probably off by an hour. Look for something from Evul in the very near future, well before vote time.

> Hapahauli: Should be weighing in today. I have no strong feelings either way about his contributed play.

If you get nothing else out of this, town members need to take a good look at their individual contributions and ask themselves if they've done everything they can today to work towards a good day one lynch.

The first thing that springs to mind is IF this is the obvious thing scum do, why would he post this?

Why do people say this a useless worthless post? He gives clear reasonable arguments on each person. They are thought out and logical.

yet:

Isnt posting meaningless lists about every one in the game a way that mafia try to do to buy town cred. By being non commital you are trying to keep you options open so nothing can be used against you later. In fact the first guide that is posted in this thread states that what you just did is something scum do to try and hide. Why would a townie try and do something like that. I would say you are reading a diffrent section of the guide.

Let obvious be lynched or vote tube and force a no lynch.

@fulla There isn’t much to say about you. I’ll start with your pledge at the beginning of the game “I will be active Very active /in x100” You don’t seem so excited now. You contribute absolutely nothing in the first 24 hours. You seem to have contributed a fair amount in your magic mafia game so don’t know what happened. You make one or two short posts that contribute relatively little content-wise. You said “Where the hell is obvious?” - my response to that is where the hell are YOU? I don’t even have anything to analyze here you’ve been so inactive.

I'm available usually just before the deadlines each night, for my timezone the deadline is exactly midnight. I'll be more active now, I didn't have much to say. Before it was random guys shouting at each other, with pages of raging about ego's. Atleast now I things to discuss.

I'm off tomorrow afternoon expect some posts tomorrow.

YourHarry is the only guy who's given me a clear town read although somewhat retracted now?
I'm not quite sure what to make off it as I've been mostly inactive and lurky.

Last game I played another guy did this to me, I then fingered a scum, my 'ally' supported me and we got him lynched and then the other seeminly scummy players. It actually turned out my 'ally' was in fact the other scum and had bussed the other mafia to manipulate me the whole game. But anyways.

When Evul asked for a replacement, there was no hint of him being a power role. There are two possible explanations for this:

1. Scums didn't read that Evul is replacing out. (Not likely that all three or four missed this)
2. Some of scums really did not want speedbumps, who was going to replace Evul, to contribute to scumhunting

There is a third explanation, but I do not want to disclose that right now.

Can we have the 3rd explanation now?

I read Calgar as pro town, he seems generally trying alot to promote discussion. I find it interesting how certain people are heavily laying into him.

I find hopeless suspicious, when tube was getting heavily criticized, he stayed out of it and just kept going about me being inactive. Not just a hey Fulla post more.

Fulla it took over 24 hours from your first post to your second. Any comment beyond I'm new? Is this your normal posting habits or can we expect more from you?
I don't know what a rough statistic of what a one-liner poster might flip as, but it is not the same as an overactive day1 poster. The lack of content is what is detrimental, and that is reason enough for suspicion because that type of posting is beneficial to mafia. In general I don't believe an overly active poster could be hurting town unless he was actively pushing scummy agenda's and would probably get called out for it.

But of course just enough time to pop in and keep the suspicion on Obvious but he's actually gonna vote for me.

Going through Obvious's filter:
  • Obvious.660 looks at YourHarry's early vote and manages to turn it into a big 'sacraficial lamb' strategy involving iamperfection and some unknown third scum (soon to be accused: tube)
  • Responds to Jingle with an 'If I was Mafia...blah blah blah" Unacceptable as a defense due to WIFOM.
  • Spends time trying to get tube to contribute. When tube finally steps up, he goes through a 'coached response, kill it' phase.
  • Gets called out and somehow relates his vote back to his crazy sacrificial lamb strategy
  • Says he got thrown off by the Capitalization, punctuation and paragraphs used by tube - after we spent so long ragging on tube for being useless and asking him to improve his posting. Obvious.660 was involved in asking tube to improve his posting.

Obvious.660's whole interaction regarding tube looks scummy. More to follow later, my vote remains on Fulla for the time being, but I'm heavily considering switching to Obvious.660

The other thing is that your reads are needed to help town no matter how newbie they are. Don't let that stop you.

The ideal environment for scum would be where EVERYONE is suspicious in everyones eyes. Where they can easily just slip in a vote or two to push the lynch count on someone, slowly passing through the days wiping out the town.

I was not the only 1 lurking, yet it had barely been a day and he wants everyone know how suspicious I am?

Iamperfection
Evulrabbitz
Fulla

I'll be gone for a bit. Going to look into iamperfection when I return, because he looks scummiest of the players listed there.

This to me reads, his scum buddies got Obvious lynched, but these instead wants these 3 lynched. Note that Evlrabbitz turned out town as well.

It leads to believe iamperfection is in fact town as well.

I screwed up the quoting, I meant to add, the part where he jumps in throws in more suspicion on Obvious, keeping it thriving, then try's to stay out of it and takes a stance that's he still going to vote me for lurking anyways.

That to me is very scummy.

Brought most of this stuff up, and he has some replies (in my opinion, insufficient) to those posts shortly afterwards.

I'll read that now and post my thoughts later tonight.

The best play style for town thou I think is to go for the scummiest player and then later try and piece together his allies once confirmed. Rather than find all 3 at once, which can screw up the hunt and lets mafia manipulate to much.

The point was:
- He didn't contribute to other suspicions/discussions.
- Kept on and on about how inactive I am. (other inactive players what about them?) Why so over the top?
- Seems he REALLY wanted me in the spotlight with suspicion.
- Still managed to come in and make sure obvious was lynched.
- But try to stay out of it with me and his target.

Is that not dodgy?

Jingle I find this whole thing requires too much of a leap of faith. I really don't think pursuing this is a good idea. The more I think about the more killing the silent guy was the best choice for scum.

- 1 town was removed, without giving ANY information out.
- Alot of fingers going around.already It has only increased the paranoia.

Anybody here as Mafia could have made the choice to kill the silent guy. It doesn't make anyone more suspicious in my eyes?
