Howdy y'all. I'm LD, one of the staff commentators for Dotacommentaries.com. On July 8th, 2012, Luminous and I streamed our first official episode of The Dota Show. I created this thread to keep everyone in the TL community informed about the show and also to provide a public space for everyone to give us constructive feedback and discuss the goings-on of the show.
The show is very much open to tweaks and experimentation, and Luminous and I would love to hear your thoughts on how we can improve the show. I love TL and generally find it to be the best place on the internet to go for honest, respectful feedback & conversation about all things esports/gaming, so I look forward to hearing from everyone and growing the show together.
DotaCommentaries are proud to present our newest project, The Dota Show. Starting on July 8th, from every Sunday to Thursday, we’ll be seeing you at 7PM PST / 10PM EST for an hour long show of Dota. The idea is to educate, entertain, as well as connect with the viewers out there. Below is a list of our segments: . Sunday – Trivia Night Sundays are meant to be relaxing! The focus of the Sunday show will be Dota trivia segment. Think you know your stuff about heroes, mechanics or the pro scene? Answer 3 questions correctly in a row to win cosmetic items or betakeys. At least 5 keys/items are given away each week. We’ll also be looking back at the last week of the Dotaverse and discuss various topics. . Monday – Dota 101 Still playing against bots after owning Dota 2 for a month? Terrified of clicking that “Find Match” button? Now you don’t have to be. Each week, LD breaks down the fundamentals of the game to help bad players get better at the game. Just show up ready to learn! . Tuesday – Learning with Lumi Beyond the standard strategic commentary, Luminous will be taking an in-depth look in recent pro games. Whether the focus is on an individual hero, strategy or playstyle, the aim is to understand and learn from the very best of Dota2. There’s quite a bit to learn from the pros, so Let’s Learn Together~ . Wednesday – Get In That Ass, Larry! Ever built a Butterfly on Phantom Assassin, skipped Queen of Pain’s Shadow Strike until level 10, or maxed Shackles before Hex as Shadow Shaman? Don’t be that guy. Tune in every Wednesday night as LD selects a replay from his own public matchmaking games and presents a detailed analysis of item choices, skill builds, and hero roles. Break the cycle of losing, and put an end to senseless feeding. Get ready to Feed, Learn, & Own with LD. You’ll be a pubstar in no time! . Thursday – The Challenge! Each week, users follow a ridiculous challenge and tackle it in public games. LD and Luminous will select the best user submission and see how in the world the users manage to (un)successfully accomplish the challenge. The next week’s challenge will be given out at the end of the day.

This is a tremendously aggressive schedule of shows, but the concepts and structure are phenomenal if you guys can pull it off. This thread has been surprisingly quiet but I hope its not too discouraging, this is an amazing initiative, great work. If you can keep it up consistently having content on a regular schedule this will no doubt become a phenomenal resource. Good Luck and Have Fun =)

Yoshi-, regarding the European showtime, it's something we're considering, but it might not be feasible due to our schedules.
I see some heavy inspiration from Day 9 dailys in this, i like it! Always thought somehting like that would be great to spread to other games, gl with it!

watched it and enjoyed it, fun challenge, too heavy to get carried by Blitz ^^, I hope you keep doing it because its entertaining, too bad its at unfortunate times for europeans.
