in late game,the defult hot-keys bother me a lot when I try to upgrade and produce some tech&unit which I rarely do,or there are so many thing to do and I fell lazy to do troubled
job.I believe many peple have similar experience.To change the hot-keys will make your
control more efficient.
here are some common rule to set a efficint hot-keys
1.all the upgrade&research use "Q","W","E","A","S","D"due to the position:
such the wepon ,amor & zerg speed
Q W E R T
A S D F G
2.the keys in right side,such as "I","O","P","L",change to left
to aviod left hand moves over
detail:
terren :
lift "W",dont use "R" cause reaper is "R"
select building scv "Z"
Yamato Cannon "C"
Planetary Fortress "F"
zerg:
Pneumatized Carapace:"C" this upgare dont suit rule 1
and Ventral Sacs also "E"
Greater Spire "B"
Infestation Pit "F"
Ultralisk Cavern "B"
Nydus Worm&Network "C"
Hydralisk & den "X" ,I dont like "H",hard to press
Hatchery "T"
protoss:
Build Interceptor "C"
Mothership "T"
select all gate "null", I dont like it ,useless
Nexus "X"
Immortal "R"
the keys"R","E","T","D","F"is best,it suit your left hand and will not occupt your
finger press"1","2","3" which "Q","W","A"may

I actually use a modified grid.
Idk why everyone rages about grid.
I always hear people say "OH ITS NOT WHAT BW WAS" -- assuming BW is the only way you can come across this game.
But mines grid, except, F1-F4 are minimap save spots
~ is a ctrl group.
Spacebar is next hatch
Z is morph baneling, X is explode baneling. |

| An efficent hotkey is any hotkey, as long as you are repetitive with the ones you are using. It will become muscle memory, so it doesn't matter about any of this garbage. Last edit: 2012-07-11 00:05:41 |
