Mid - Late game vZ laggy after computer reformat

Hello,

So recently I reformatted my computer because I was getting very bad lag (spikes every 3 seconds trhat would last for 1 second, basically unplayable). Now, after reformatting, I have a new issue

Every time I play vs zerg (with any race), around the 14:00 minute mark the game starts to get noticeably laggy and everything feels slow and delayed, while not dropping frames. I have a raedon 6800 hd series video card and I play on all low settings, so my FPS is always around 100+, so the issue is not related to frame dropping.

Any ideas?

Did you install all windows updates and update your necessary drivers? Have you tested this problem in single player or a unit testing map?

Did the gas knock everyone out? Nope, just Jensen.

I have updated all the drivers and windows updates if I recall correctly.. I did motherboard and video card drivers

I've been testing it on 1v1 ladder because the issue doesn't occur until mid to late game, so I am not sure exactly when the issue occurs

Watch a replay and see if you get the same lag when you set it to your pov or viewing everything.

just watched replay, same scenario. ~13 - 14 minutes into game vs Z everything just gets delayed and slightly choppy yet my FPS is still above 90.

Could it be something to do with my CPU?

The only drivers I installed when i reformatted was my mother board and video card, but i don't think i have any others besides those

How many games against zerg have you experienced this problem? If a common variable like creep spread that covers a certain distance or there being 3 hatcheries in the game causes this lag, it might be a problem with your installation. Should try reinstalling starcraft 2 first.

bit of an update, it is still laggy now after the reinstall. Also, we got a new router in our house which may complicate things as well.

The lag is no longer that "faux fps" lag that i was experiencing ( that still happens rarely though). Now it is mini 1/2 - 2/3 second spikes every 5 or so seconds while playing. I was playing 3v3 with some friends last night while talking on skype and the spikes shot up to 1 - 2 second spikes every 5 seconds.

Now, I have a few theories... It could be the firewall for our new router causing this issue, because nobody else is getting lag when i play them, only me.

OR it could be a hardware issue with my computer. I'm thinking it is either the HDD or CPU. My HDD makes a lot of noise, similar to this video's noise (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n9obzgmWrlM) except a bit deeper in tone and louder.

Any ideas?
