I don't know if anyone's posted a thread about this here yet. But, a few days ago, I encountered a "problem" on the Blizzard Starcraft 2 forum. I had no character, and it said I had no Starcraft 2 license. Long story short, I figured out what the problem was.
I'd gotten to the forum via google searching to find help about something. Except the url I was at was sea.battle.net instead of us.battle.net. I had no character/license on the forums because I was browsing the forums for the wrong region.
Once I figured that out, I made a thread as a sort of heads up for users in the same region as me, because there were a few other people complaining of the same issue, except they hadn't figured out what exactly was wrong yet.
I'm making a thread here on teamliquid as a sort of cross-region heads up. If you have this problem, you're probably browsing the blizzard site for a region you don't have Starcraft 2 for.

However, the guys over at sea.battle.net don't seem to have a solution posted anywhere. (Reading their thread about this is what started me on the trail to solving it for myself. Particularly the part about launching the website from the SC client fixing it.) If someone with a license over there could go and tell them what's up, that would save a lot of time and trouble for anyone over there experiencing that "issue".

(I obviously can't post there because I don't have a license/character in that region.)
I haven't checked any other regions to see if people are having that problem and whether they've found the solution or not. So anyone reading this, feel free to check your region's battle.net forums and post about this if people there are having an issue and they haven't figured it out yet. |
