Damm you Virgil. Was just gonna post it after seeing the thread title and you beat me to it....
In all seriousness. WCG lost a lot of its "weight" after SC2 came out. Right now its one of the many tournaments and lets be honest its very hard to follow the finals...

They had problems porting it to the cellphones... The lag was killing the gameplay in alfa version
I don't know, WCG really shot themselves in the foot with the mobile games fiasco, and with the Blizzard WCS happening just 2 weeks prior, I fear this event will probably get overshadowed bigtime. The last WCG was pretty lackluster from a production standpoint, and while I hope they can get their act together, I think Blizzard's WCS will overshadow them.
Now that I've purged the negativity from my system, great to see SC2 still on the game lineup and not angry birds

On a flip side, scrapping CS 1.6 for Cross Fire is not cool whatsoever. They should've just stick to it and replace it with CSGO next year. Bad move really...

Got replaced by Dota 2 FUCK YEAH!
There were some problems with WCG and LoL and got replaced by Dota.. However keep in mind that teams must consist of one country so China and Ukraine are looking pretty strong (Atleast they should be, because it is WCG where you play for your country, not for your teams)

It feels weird that WCIII is still in. I mean, the professional scene went on to starcraft II, didn't they?
If it wasn't for the sublime Flash vs JD, the last BW WCG was awful.
edit : Although I'd love to watch another Flash vs JD live since I live near the WCG finals venue.
Well, might be boring to see koreans slaughter the foreigners, but after all it's supposed to be some kind of olympics, right? I just don't see how mobile phone games can be more representative or attention-drawing than the most established e-sport game that has ever existed (which is broodwar). The real WCG always was the korean qualifier.

The problem was not about the Korean slaughtering the foreigners, it's always been this way. It was about how few players were at the Grand Finals, and how two of the very best BW country, namely Canada and Hungary didn't have qualifiers hence didn't send any player. It really felt like the tournament was on life support, it was painful to watch.
With all the recent foreign BW initiatives it would be nice to see a WCG Grand finals like it used to be, but a tournament like WCG 2010 ? No thanks.
