Hello all and as the title says, this is a recruitment tournament. This is an open tournament single elimination bo3 every round. To join post sign up at http://www.excello.net/tournament/427/fusion-esports-recruitment-tournament/. This is only open for players ranked masters or above. Do not sign up if you are on a team already, we will just ignore it as we are looking at growing undiscovered talent!
The selection process will not be just how far in the tournament you get, if we think you are good or have potential as long as you are willing to commit we will contact you. There will be observers in random matches (so you don't need to upload those replays if there is an observer in your game). To make sure nobody gets the wrong idea, this is not sponsored of any sort and joining won't get you a trip to MLG/IPL if that is all you are looking for in a team.
This tournament is being held to locate players who are good, but aren't known or established and want to join a team. There is a lot of undiscovered talent out there and I would like to bring them in. The goal is to fill our roster with players who practice together and play and act as a team, which means participating in team leagues and helping each other practice, tournaments, etc. There will be a vent!
All replays are to be sent to fusionesports@hotmail.com and this will be a 1 day tournament. If you are interested in joining but cannot make this tournament date we can try to figure something out, no guarantees though.
The tournament is going to start 8 pm EST on July 27, 2012 next Friday on the North American Server in the chat channel Fusion Tournament.
If there are more than 32 participants, the winner will win a Zowie MiCO Mouse
The map pool will be as follows:
TSL4 Antiga Shipyard (cross spawn only)
TSL4 Cloud kingdom
TSL4 Daybreak
MLG Metropolis
TSL4 Ohana
MLG Tal darim Altar
There is no prize other than the chance to join this team, brackets will be up either as soon as 32 players enter, or if in the case of less than 32 players, July 26 by 8pm PST the day before the tournament starts.

About the team:
This team is based on the concept of what we used in BW as team Funtastic, and later became known as Quantum gaming in the beta. We held a tournament just like this in the StarCraft 2 beta and ended up forming a team with players such as Rigid, Blade (me), Time, Titan and Murder. This was a team that during the beta could take games and won clan wars with top foreign teams at the time such as EG, VT, Inflow, etc. Murder had many tournament wins during his beta period and some good success in early sc2 before he stopped playing due to school and then disappeared. Remember this was the time during beta, obviously things have changed a lot in that time frame, EG now has Koreans, VT doesn't exist and neither does inflow, etc. We were all great friends, practiced together a lot and then we joined vVv which in the end most of the players have left or quit playing the game.
The goal is to go back to the roots and try to repeat what we did back in beta before joining vVv gaming. The three players on the team, Blade, Waffles and Dori were all a part of the original Funtastic into quantum into what was eventually now known as vVv (although most players have left the organization). The goals are to become a top competitive team and to work and act as a team and all that.
Further information:
This is a new team started by Blade and Dori in order to tap into the unexplored talent that exists in NA. One issue that has been raised in threads has been the lack of infrastructure for the discovery and the development of NA players. The goal of the tournament is to identify such talent and create a cohesive unit. The team will organize the players and help in the development through practice, strategy talks, as well as anything else that can aid in player improvement.
The goal of the team is twofold, the first being get good at StarCraft. The second being to explore the business side of eSports and find opportunities and needs of audience that is not currently met by the community already. We will look towards creation of products, shows, blogs, etc. that will expand upon the current offering and make eSports more accessible to all fans, from non-Sc2 players to casual players to professional level players. We are in the process of creating a business plan that will look towards this objective.
The end goal is to both create a new NA that can be competitive on the NA scene as well as have a solid business plan from which funding and sponsorship can be accessed to help support said team. If any of y'all have interest in either the business side or the pro-gaming side, I urge you to reach out to Blade (primarily) or myself.

I think dori forgot to say who the current players on the team are. for those curious here are the 5 of us so far. We are looking to expand to 9 players so hoping to pick up about 4!

| I would recommend making a tournament on z33k or playhem. It looks like you're just going to put it together yourself which can lead to a lot of no shows and a lot of extra work. |

We are in team leagues such as ESEA and soon to be the amatuer league for IPL team arena. We have vent/skype and a website. In terms of money or anything we don't have any of that to offer. While for ESEA Dori is paying the fee for players that's about it.
We hope to one day become a top tier team if possible and do very well in team leagues. But again not much else to offer except what we have. We do have shirts being made I believe but not done yet. If there is anything else I'm sure dori will reply to your post to  |

And I am a part of Team Online Gaming, but does that mean that I am completely excluded from the tournament, even if I am willing to leave my team? |

If you are willing to leave your team you are fine. If you are just going to play and don't intend on joining if given the offer then no you can't.
As for tags none of us have any atm as none of us have free name changes and we don't want to pay 30$ for a new account just to have new tags so it's not a requirement as of right now. |
