Ever since the launch of Valve's store for Dota2, the chat channels has been flooded with people wanting to trade and/or buy items. We even have our own Dota2 Item Trading thread here on TL.
We've managed to acquire a small stack of items, and we thought we'd share them with you through a few fun competitions. This weekend we'll be competing for full item sets for Invoker, Juggernaut, Dragon Knight and Morphling. You'll be able to read the specifics of each competition further down in the post. Just remember, you can enter all of them if you please!
Let the games begin!
If you're too busy this weekend, don't worry. We will continue running small competitions over the next few weeks. They will not all be for item sets, some will be for announcers, couriers, and similar stuff. So be sure to check the Dota2 forums regularly.
PS. The deadline for all of the competitions will be July 23 2012 20:00 GMT[local].
Mastering A Magician
Invoker
The Invoker is a wizard of rare talent, whose skills vastly outnumber those of other heroes; so broad and unusual is his prodigious memory that he has acquired more spells than other spellcasters might hope to know, magic being a slippery affair at the best of times. This inordinately wide knowledge has necessitated the learning of a series of conjurations and combinations which prompt the invokation of unique spells acquired over the course of his immortality.
The effect has been to render the Invoker strange and mercurial, capable of stripping down and rebuilding his list of available cantrips, sorceries, and incantations at a moment's notice.
Now it's time for you to find your inner sorcerer. You can practice and refine your invoking skills here. It's the same place as you'll need to be to enter the competition.
That being said, there are some rules as well. They're fairly simple though; the mode we're playing is Classic. It's all about speed. You need to invoke 10 invoker spells as fast as possible in the order they pop up on your screen. The order of the spells is random, hence it'll be different every time you try.
After you've practiced a bit, you should consider making your entry to the contest. What you need to do is record your attempt on video, upload it to your YouTube account and send me (Bumblebee) a PM marked Invoker Competition with your link. In the beginning of your recording, we'd want you all to start on TeamLiquid.net showing you logged in to your account, so we can identify you on the videos more easily. When the competition closes, the two fastest Invokers will receive their prizes, which will be The Magus Magnus Set for Invoker.
If three or more people are tied for the prizes, we will take your ID's, put them into a random generator and let that decide who'll win.
My Invoker Trainer demonstration. As smart as I am, I made this video before thinking through the rules, so I'm not showing my TeamLiquid account. However, doesn't matter since I won't be competing!

Your Magic Cannot Harm Me
Juggernaut
Look at the picture, read the lore of Juggernaut and write a caption for this picture. Once you're happy with your caption, send it to me (Bumblebee) in a PM with the title Juggernaut Caption. When the competition is over, we'll decide on three captions and release them, sending the winners The Dauntless Set for Jugger himself!
"No one has ever seen the face hidden beneath the mask of Yurnero the Juggernaut. It is only speculation that he even has one. For defying a corrupt lord, Yurnero was exiled from the ancient Isle of Masks--a punishment that saved his life. The isle soon after vanished beneath the waves in a night of vengeful magic. He alone remains to carry on the Isle's long Juggernaut tradition, one of ritual and swordplay. The last practitioner of the art, Yurnero's confidence and courage are the result of endless practice; his inventive bladework proves that he has never stopped challenging himself. Still, his motives are as unreadable as his expression. For a hero who has lost everything twice over, he fights as if victory is a foregone conclusion."

The Tournament Commences
Dragon Knight
The strength of a Dragon Knight lies not in his arms or sword, but in his heart. Nor is he protected by his armor, but his faith. When facing a dragon the edge of one's blade means less than the sharpness of one's mind.
These are all things that are important for you to know about the Dragon Knight, because your next challenge is to depict Dragon Knight in his most epic form with not only painting skills, but with humor, intellect, and knowledge. As always you can find inspiration in Dragon Knight's bio, but remember... achieving mastery against dragons is impossible without first achieving mastery of the self.
There is only one rule on this battleground; everything has to be done using the wonderful MS Paint. When the picture is done, upload it and send me (Bumblebee) the link in a PM with the title Dragon Knight Depiction. When the deadline has been reached, we will look through all of the pictures and choose the two victors of the Armor of Sir Davion.
Your Own Worst Enemy
Morphling
Morphling is a strange, formless creature, freed from a fallen comet in the midst of an ancient battle. In the first moments since crashing to the ground, it used its ability to replicate foes, granting it ways to survive in a strange and alien world. The ability to replicate foes, to almost be in two places at once, is core to the morphling's skillset
That's going to be relevant to those of you who are angling to win a Radiant Crystal Morphling Set, because you're going to have to do two things. First, you'll need to answer the five questions below, then you'll need to write a Dota2 related Morphling joke.
To enter, send me (Bumblebee) a PM with your five answers and a Morphling joke, using the title Morphling Questions. Winners will be determined based on those who answer all five questions correctly and who submit what we judge to be the funniest joke.
The questions 01: What is the name of Morphling's WarCraft III model? 02: What is the name of Morphling's spells? 03: What are Morphling's starting movement speed and attack range? 04: What does the term "Shotgun" mean in relation to Morphling? 05: Quantic Gaming's carry player is especially known for his Morphling. What is his name, and where is he from?

There is no difference between a knight and any other man aside from what he wears.

When I first read the title, I thought it was going to be a TL-item creating competition, where we created items, even a full set, of TL-themed armor for a hero.
I wasn't disappointed but I still think someone should do that!
I wants me some armor
