I posted this on battle.net forums, in hopes of gaining a response from blizzard and perhaps some solidarity amongst players. Feel free to post your experiences on the original thread. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/6147945563
"After reading all the posts and stories about error 0 and the real money auction house, blizzard's response to the victims of this elementary bug has been negligent and indifferent. The bug error 0 occurs in the auction house, when any transaction is made, and the transaction process fails to complete. In many cases, the cancelled transaction neither returns the item sold or the money used to purchase. One player http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/6036883685 was just told to forget about the high valued items he lost during the error and blizzard's response was that there was nothing that could be done about the situation. Another player http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5836324890 was outbid on an item, and his losing bid was never returned to him. In the current state of the real money auction house it is hard to speculate if it is indeed a working system, not to mention a safe one worthy of spending money on. We as players are helpless in this situation, waiting over three weeks for something as simple as a response above 'forget about it'. Our money is taken from us, and customer support refuses to address the issue at hand.
As players what can we do?"Last edit: 2012-07-22 03:27:05 |

| I lost a good sum of gold due to another bug. Customer support told me that I should go reacquire my losses by playing more. What jerks lol. |

well you could just try and be so nice as to present what has actually happened to thread readers instead of forcing them to run through 5 battle.net threads to find what's going on.
am i understanding this correct in that items get sold, but the receipt shows an error where the sell price should be and you receive neither any money nor the item back? |

Ya MisterD, thats what happens. Should have summarized that for sure, but in my defense i haven't written anything in years. What a crude mistake I have made. ( |

I noticed from me having a friend buy an item from me to offload his blizzard balance number that he got the item before I got the money.
Wonder if this is from chargebacks or whatever during that time in between. |

| You know, I have a feeling its some scam where they are trying to do chargebacks or whatever. I sold an item for 250 that was really worth more like 80-100. *before of course i got error 0'ed Last edit: 2012-07-22 03:28:56 |

Most of the issue are caused by Paypal. If Blizz really cared about customers they'd allow bnet xfer to / from paypal free of charge and DISALLOW the use of paypal for RMAH directly. That way they'd assume all the risks rather than players.
But, Blizz does what Blizz does. |

So they let someone pay with money from b.net balance but can not do anything about transaction not complete?
Forget item sellers, but Im pretty sure about buyers, that would be against laws in my country. |

Yeah it's pretty seedy, but I'm sure they got it covered with some loophole such as licence to use or some BS like that. |

When the real money is in play, you cannot cover system errors easily with loopholes stated in EULAs. Laws regarding money transactions are usually strict in almost any country.
When you lose real money due to system errors and have documented every step carefully and Blizzard is not reacting, it might be a good idea to contact the press. For example Forbes has been closely monitoring the D3 RMAH and has reported such cases before. And as result these people have eventually got their money from Blizzard.
