Computer is freezing during games randomly. Sometimes I can play for hours, sometimes just for a few minutes. During the freeze sounds continue and the screen stays the same, but keyboard and mouse are unresponsive. I have to do a hard reset.
The issue began after I had to replace my SSD and reinstall my OS (old SSD just up and died one day). I RMA'ed the SSD so I have the same model that was working before.
Computer Specs: OS: Windows 7 Pro CPU: i5 2500k Mobo: Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4-B3 RAM: 8 gb (2x 4gb) GSkill GPU: GeForce GTS 250 PSU: Kingwin Lazer LZ-1000w SSD: OCZ Vertez 2 120 gb - OS and SC2 are on the SSD
I have not been able to recreate the freezing outside of SC2. I have stress tested the CPU, GPU and both at the same time and found that the heat does not seem to be the issue (CPU stays under 60 degrees and the GPU stayed under 80 degrees).
I believe all of my drivers are up to date. I have wiped and reinstalled my graphics driver several times, but that has not fixed the problem.
Any help or ideas would be much appreciated. I have been trying to fix this for a few weeks with no success. Thank you!
**edit** I decided to re-run Memtest, and this time I got a few errors. I am checking out my RAM now. The SSD is also suspect.
**final edit** My SSD seems to be the problem. Working to replace that now. Last edit: 2012-07-24 04:32:34 |
