Hello TL!
I'm a passionate gamer and I play SC2 at a high level (top master Protoss EU/NA, beating known players every now and again) and I love to stream the games I play. I thought of making an event. A streamathon was what popped into my mind. I started asking people for ideas and slowly but steadily I was creating an event which I hope everyone would want to see!
The streamathon will be taking place 27th of July, starting at 20:00 (CEST), lasting 24 hours until Saturday 28th, 20:00.

The goals of my streamathon are:
Supporting a charity:
I chose Child's Play as the charity to support. I love their work and they are very optimistic about the gaming community. I asked around for charities and Child's Play was named often. I searched around their site and liked what I saw. There will be a ChipIn widget at my stream's information section where people are able to donate money (via paypal) to Child's Play. The money won't go to me, it will directly be donated to Child's Play's paypal adress.

Increasing the popularity of my stream:
Streaming ladder games is something I enjoy very much, 99% of the time the people that come in the chat are friendly and motivating for me to go on. Some ask questions because they want to improve and others just watch because they like to see me play. It's amazing to have viewers like that and I would love to get a more popular stream. Right now I regularly attract 50+ viewers and I'm very happy with the progression! Eventually I hope I can get a partnership with twitch and reach featured on TeamLiquid. Maybe one day  . One thing is certain, I will play (and stream!) lots and lots of SC2 the coming year.
Creating e-sport related events:
I never particularly enjoyed sports, I never understood friends of mine being so enthusiastic about a player kicking a ball into a net. But since I discovered the e-sports scene, and more specifically, the SC2 scene, I got hypnotized with the competetive feeling. I finally know what it's like to cheer for a favorite, to compete at a high level. Receiving a medal around your neck and the most amazing: getting cheered on by people. I want this scene to grow, and events for people to watch is a part of that. I hope that I can motivate others to play, to compete, or just to watch more e-sports events so eventually it will rival or triumph over regular sports in popularity 
What will be happening?
You can expect me to play ladder a big part of the time. I will play monobattles with viewers and fun customs a little too. I will probably play some fun showmatches against friends or maybe a pro or two if they're willing. I will be commentating and I have a webcam as well. Usually I have some music going on in the background for when I'm not talking. Of course there will be a few breaks, as short as possible, to eat/drink.
There will be a showmatch, sponsored by Playhem, against a professional player. Who will it be? Yet to be determined! But the winner will take 40 dollars.
Ownaj has given me permission to give away one of their t-shirts! This contest will be taking place via twitter. To be eligible you have to follow @ownaj and @darkomicron and during the streamathon tweet at me and ownaj which shirt is your favorite and why you would want it. Easy! At the end of the streamathon I will pick a winner at random and check if he/she meets the requirements.
A personal friend wanted to help me out and offered a TL pack to give away.
Furthermore, I will give away a couple of hours of coaching by myself to viewers in chat. I will give an hour of coaching away for each milestone reached in donations to Child's Play and followers to my twitch.tv channel. (i.e. 500/750/1000 followers, 100/250/500 dollars donated).
Schedule:
20:00 - Start Streamathon, playing ladder on EU
22:00 - Showmatch vs WhiteRa, sponsored by Playhem! Afterwards ladder on EU.
01:00 - a few monobattles if the viewer count is high enough.
02:00 - NA playhem daily
09:00 - breakfast, little longer break time.
09:30 - continue playing ladder
12:00 - viewer request, tell me what to do!
14:00 - play NA ladder
18:00 - dinner
19:00 - EU playhem daily
20:00 (or when I'm done with EU playhem daily) - Ownaj giveaway, finishing up the streamathon.
NOTE: times may vary a little. This is just a plan and if there are a lot of viewers requesting a certain custom map for instance, I'm willing to do that. Popular demand
I'd like to thank Playhem and Ownaj in advance for supporting my streamathon, and I hope I can raise a good amount to support Child's Play.

| Don't die.......no but seriously make sure to take breaks to do jumping jacks/pushups/ect ect. drink water, eat good quality food. The reason I bring all this up is because i saw on the yahoo news, someone died playing d3 for like 48 straight hours due to blood clot, and that brings down video games. But ya I will check it out GL hF |

I´ve never heard of you before, but when i´ll like what i see, i will add you to my favorite streams, because sometimes Prtoss Streams are rare.^^
HF with the Marathon, but i think that u should maybe switch to another account to ladder on after ~12 h, because you will may play worser than before. :D |

This guy nailed all my thoughts exactly.
EVEN THOUGH HuskyStarcraft and his friends are REALLY AND 100% doing this because of the charity...the product what we are seeing when we watch the stream is a show with much promotion for the stream(er) with the little side-effect people spend some money.
This is basically propaganda, but because it has the guise of charity either nobody gets it or is afraid to step up or say something about it (BECAUSE IT'S CHARITY, DO YOU NOT HAVE A HEART P00N?). |
