Zhang Jike is the most amazing player I have seen the last couple of years, I love to watch him play. Ovtcharov did everything right, I thought his strategies were spot on. But Zhang is just so good, you cannot make any mistakes vs him. Hopefully Ovtcharov can take Bronze. Bolls performance really hurt though, that was terrible.Last edit: 2012-08-02 21:37:10 |

I dont know for me it feels like many player do "wrong" serves for example Maze hardly throws his ball straight up almost always a bit towards him on the other hand i dont feel like the players really abuse it. Generaly i dont like this rule and it always feel like the umprie wants to make himself important if he suddenly starts with counting against them in important situations. If they really think its thats important they should be more rigorous about it through the whole tourney.
Those players which start correcting your serve in low level leagues then they start loosing are hilarious though so i dont mind it too much lol :D
I though Otcharov wasnt really there first 2 sets but afterwards had a great game. First set both were not in the game and without some unneccessary serving errors otcharov could have gone into the lead.Last edit: 2012-08-02 21:29:55 |

Yeah, Ding Ning has actually never been penalized for her serve until this tourney iirc, so she was really really really mad (and sad) about it ;___;
Hope Wang Hao takes it. Zhan Jike is indeed really really really good though. Wang Hao's problem is that he can make a lot of UEs sometimes.Last edit: 2012-08-02 23:47:03 |

Where you guys at? :O
Man Wang Hao is just getting raped at the moment....looks like he has no chance, just can't realy hurt Zhang Jike. He already makes a ton of errors, and it doesn't help that he generally just doesn't seem as good. 2-4 now though. |

Yeah, congrats Germany and Ovtcharov
Oh man Wang Hao looks soooo outclassed but someone manages to take it to 10-all!! Really hope he can take this, because I think it will be his last Olympics singles...
Now down to 10-11 again after saving 4 game points. T_T
Pretty cool to see a lot of the other table tennis players here to watch them play hehe.
7th game point for ZJK at 14-13......come on Wang Hao.Last edit: 2012-08-02 23:56:51 |

15-15...this is ridiculous.
COME ON!! Both of them are now getting game points, 3rd game point for Wang Hao now....but he misses the stroke entirely.
16-16. The mental aspect really beginning to creep in now.
FFUUUU ZJK 17-16, calls a timeout to really load on the pressure, good choice there
OTL 18-16 after Wang Hao saved so many game points................................. Last edit: 2012-08-03 00:01:12 |

I'm also biased because I hit the same way Wang Hao does hehe, pen hold for the win. I'm unable to hit it with the back side though.
WHOA, don't know whether you guys follow piano, but Lang Lang appears to be there or something?
Sigh Wang Hao :< you'd think experience would play a role but Zhang Jike also has a ton of experience even though he's a lot younger....ZJK clearly looking like the world number one, not sure whether Wang Hao will be able to win this...Last edit: 2012-08-03 00:03:56 |

Zhang Jike seems to be too strong, I really can't see Wang Hao winning this.
I am rooting for Wang Hao because it's amazing what oldies can achieve in TT
haha and he is not even thaaat old, he looks much older than he is tbhLast edit: 2012-08-03 00:13:02 |

Yeah Zhang Jike was better than Wang Hao in pretty much every way and it's certainly looking to be the case even now... sigh. That game 1 save was a huge chance but he ended up being unable to win it, and it probably has a terrible mental impact on him as well--not as if he had a good chance in the beginning anyway. ;_;
I can't bear to watch, I'll just switch away but it's almost certainly going to be a 4-0 or 4-1.
Just kidding, watching to the death. And yeah, seeing him win would be great in so many ways. Last time Ma Lin winning was great. Wang Hao doesn't look that old though haha...well maybe a bit. Sigh now this time Wang Hao is the old one.Last edit: 2012-08-03 00:11:55 |

Wang Hao's head is down...I feel like by now everybody thinks it's just a foregone conclusion. ;__;
Damn I'm so sad, Olympics don't occur often enough for there to be a kong line, but Wang Hao one game away from getting 2 Olympic silvers. |

Yay, he barely wins the fourth game!! >_<
Is it possible to hope for a comeback ._.
I feel like I'm watching MC versus Seed again (except ZJK has always been favored). Their body types are sort of the same though lol, ZJK is skinnyish and Wang Hao is sort of chubby. 3-1. |

Lots of cheering for Wang Hao, the crowd rallies behind him |

I think the crowd just likes the underdog in this case maybe
Maybe Wang Hao will just have to go for broke and hope he gets lucky. He really is outclassed in every department except for spin, and his spin is just good mostly because of the way he holds the paddle. I'm not sure he'll be able to take the pressure again if Zhang Jike gets close to winning. |

| What happened a couple points ago? Looks like the Zhang got the ball to hit the edge of the table and it was called in his favour but they seemed dubious. |
