I seriously hope this wont become reality. Google has gone from an amazing search engine to a near complete useless piece of crap in the past 10 years Majority of people in this thread seem to love google and imo they are heavily misinformed. No companys knows more about you then google, and they are suposed to be the white knights of internet freedom?
Google a useless piece of crap? How? rofl. Even if you just mean the search engine I don't understand how it's become useless because they added extra stuff. Does it no longer search for you? Can you no longer find things you want? Are you bombarded by things you don't want? What's better? Bing? Dogpile? DuckDuckGo?
But for other products:
Android Chrome Google Now Google Music Google Drive GMail Google Maps Google Earth Google Docs Galaxy Nexus 7
and many many other great things.

The undisputed documents show that AT&T installed a fiberoptic splitter at its facility at 611 Folsom Street in San Francisco that makes copies of all emails web browsing and other Internet traffic to and from AT&T customers and provides those copies to the NSA. This copying includes both domestic and international Internet activities of AT&T customers.
Anyway, I'm glad someone is doing high-speed internet like this in the USA. I could get a 250/50Mb internet with no data caps or other limits, for ~40€/month, if I hadn't tied myself up to a 100/10 for 2 years. It'll take time to implement all these 1Gb connections, but it'll happen eventually. Hopefully other ISPs follow the lead and help the spread.
World that is connected through the internet is not a concept compatible with "data caps" or crawling speeds.

I only do mean the search engine as i dont realy know anny other products from google. Why i find it a useless piece of crap? Because i can no longer found the things that i want. Let me explain this,
When i used google in ~ 2002 i got the most amazing variation of search results everytime i looked up something. The results ranged from commercial sites to extremely obscure sites with verry weird (and verry interesting) information. Every page with results had interesting links worthwhile reading for me, starting from the page with the first search results.
Now things are completely different. First:google uses the information of my previous searches to judge wich information i would like to see. This does not work at all in reality and i find it extremely annoying (though it is probably usefull for people who are bad with search engines and dont know what terms to search for) It has more then once steered me in the completely wrong direction. Example: search a few days on buying second hand car, then make a search to rent a car, and you first get lots of links where you can buy a car, because the search engine still thinks you are looking to buy a car (this is an example btw, and something like this has happend repeatedly to me) Second:I dont get the interesting obscure links annymore, they obviously dont pay google so they are displayed at page 1000+ i imagine where noone ever looks,my first pages are now filled with sponsored commercial sites, and even other search sites lol.
The quality of the search engine is alot worse then i remember it to be from the first days i used google. There also is alot more info on the internet now, so maybe its logical i dont see the obscure interesting links annymore, still i find it annoying and google has lost its usefullness for me to find interesting info on the internet. I have not found an alternative for this btw, beside websites linking other web sites, and then eventually you get to see something interesting.
Hmm i was wrong, i do know one other google product and that product i find absolutely awesome Googlemaps.
