My friend Peter struggled through depression and various other severe illnesses for a few years. At only 14 he was basically in a pit of self-pity, unable to work up the courage or energy to live on much longer. That was, until, he found SC2. He utilised sc2 as a means to get better, something to look forward to, to be happy about.

The interview talks a lot about his illness, specifically what he had, and specifically what it meant for his daily life.

It'd mean a lot to Peter and to myself if this could get some exposure. It shows that SC2 is more than something fun to do in your spare time. It's something to live and be passionate about.

That's pretty cool and good for that kid that it could turn his life around. I do think this is quite a specific example, but extremely good to hear none the less. It would have been awful had a kid as young as him taken his life. nice article and good for peter :D

Starcraft essentially gave him a reason to live, that's pretty fucking powerful.

Wow, this is amazing! I am so happy for him

You know, you always hear about people dying, like: "Sam played "X" game for 38 hours straight, with no food or water, when he suddenly ..." (You get it right?)

It is great to read that games help people. Great article! Keep the good work up
