My brothers dell latitude e6410 was taken to minnesota on a 12 hhour car ride. Upon the arrival, he could not get wireless. The appearance of the problem was that his wireless was not turned on.
Things I have tried:
WLAN Card utility: tells me the adapter is not enabled.
Wireless switch on side of computer: does nothing when switched back and forth from off or on(not that I'm sure which one is which).
Restore windows to a previous date with the settings thereof: it failed...it said it failed.
I connected my iphone by cord to give the laptop internet and it was fine for browsing, appears to be more hardware based than software based problem..i think.
I have searched the internet much, but I have not found someone in a similar situation to me. I would appreciate either advice on things to try or advice on where to ask dell for help. The one thing i do not want is to call geek squad or something.
If anything extra in terms of info is needed, I would be much obliged to provide it.
TL;DR Dell laptop internet doesnt activate regardless of wireless switch or restard.
