And, conversely, if a woman in a Batman shirt ever speaks to you at a convention without having first established her credentials, the correct response is immediate suspicion. After all, they couldn’t be attracted to you, or just want a conversation. Chances are, they are after your attention.
If this is making your skin crawl, that’s sort of the point. It’s a pretty awful way to feel about one’s own culture, before we even get into how it is likely to corrode one’s feelings towards women.

We are very good at calling out women who "have no place here". It's not something exclusive to SC2, but it's definitely happened here before, NASL finals coming to mind. I think it's good for those people to read the linked article and get some perspective.

After reading some of the article...I think the point (of the article at least) is basically this: people care too much about girls pretending to be geeks, in a nutshell, and that the "fake" geek girls are in fact not necessarily trying to pretend to be geeky.
I still think the OP has a crazy lack of content...not to mention actually discourages discussion |

Unfocused OP and unfocused article.
Hopefully you can rephrase it, because otherwise the discussion will just become a vent about how some girls exploit geek markets or how "all" girls are only attention grabbing whores and so on. |
