Getting Brutal SP Achievement Question

I restarted the campaign and am beating it all on brutal. My question is: Can I beat some missions on easy first JUST to get the zerg/protoss research points, THEN afterwards beat the mission on Brutal?

Just wondering if switching to easy or medium would ever negate my chances of getting an achievement at the end. I know some games have done this in the past but not sure about SC2. thanks for any info!

Unfortunately not! You'll find once you go back through the missions archives that the research you have researched will be toned down to what you would normally have at that point in the campaign

That said most missions are really easy on Brutal. The worst for me were All In and the Great Train Robbery. And I cheesed Supernova with banshees, completely ignoring the Protoss army.

It is better to beat the mission on brutal, then hit replay at the end screen to get the research. So you can beat them first, then make sure you have the research for future missions.
You are never defeated until you admit it.

The easiest way to get brutal missions done is to get permacloaked spectres/ghosts ASAP and use those to get easiest siege tanks.
From there on it sholdnt be hard.
The awnser to your question is yes though.

You must mean fortunately not! You play brutal to get some challenge and having tons of research points would kind of circumvent that (brutal sadly is fairly easy anyway).

Shame on You

Campaign Terran OP

3/3
Marine + Marauder + Medics combo work on 80% of the missions EASILY

The rest like the last mission or The Dig, you simply add tanks

That is how I beat the game All you need is platinum level control.

True, true. Although on the dig, they give you a single-target nuke with unlimited uses and you don't even have to leave your base. Just take the low ground, bunker up that choke and your other ramp, and float barracks out there until everything is lasered into oblivion. Fun and works on all difficulties.

I found it funnier to set 1-2 PF on each ramp and spam turrets :D As long as you kill colossus tanks + repaired PF makes this mission a joke

If you have permacloak ghosts on The Dig, you can wall off your ramps with them on hold position.
Then you only need to kill colossus with the laser drill (since they can step over the ghosts)
You must construct additional pylons.

If you just go Medic-Marine composition, you will be fine on 75% of the missions! Usually also using the new unit you're given in the mission helps a lot! Like the Supernova where you get Banshees, or the mission where you get Wraiths whilst saving the Odin.

the second was was the last aritfact mission kinda hard not to let your men die in a ripfield espically with that mothership in play

You can go Medic/Marine on nearly every mission. EZPZ!
Brutal is really not that hard, a average silver-leaguer should have no problem beating it with maybe a little google-research.

I admit I used youtube for a few of those missions. Like the banshee cheese on supernova. And the dig took many load/retries until I managed to just NOT die at 99.9%!

Really ? Mass BC + Science vessels made it easy even on brutal.

You can do all the missions with pure marines and no upgrades, except for All-In.

You can probably get away with silver 1v1 control. I was gold and had little problems. I had problem lasering, buildings got destroyed even though I put them in good spots. Cannot remember if I massed buildings or just stimmed in with some tank support and killed shit instead ;-)

Am sad now have all non win X games as Y achieves. Achievements are kinda far apart when you need 250 wins to make computer make that LOVELY HEART WARMING sound of WIN ^^ The tripple rewards make me feel really good though =)

Can only hope they add alot of achieves in HotS. I am so sick I don't even play my main race because I got 1k wins with it, start laughing at me ppl...

Oh yeah, and some missile towers for the warp prisms that drop. Though ghosts can shoot air too, so you can just make some extra ghosts to sit in your base.
