I thought I'd try to coordinate some sort of gathering before or after the OSL since many people have mentioned they'd be interested in it, but nothing else has been said yet. I live about 20minutes from the Gym in Daechi, and know a few restaurants in the area that are quite good. Also know an amazing all you can eat Brazillian Steak place in Apgujeong(still about 25minutes from the gym, just in another direction). My thought would be either to do it Friday night or after the match on Saturday, since I know a number of people are going to want to wait in line to get tickets during the day on Saturday. I'm also fine with hitting up some bars/clubs later at night. Post here if you're interested, and what you're interested in eating. On the cheaper end, there's a nice Shabu shabu restaurant near my place that would be about 13000 won per person. The Brazillian Steak place runs 35000 for the all you can eat portion and it is really, really tasty if meat's your thing. There's also a very good all you can eat Korean BBQ place that runs 40,000 per person, and includes all the soju you want. Those have been my favorite places, but if you're interested in other stuff, let me know and I'll let you know what's available. Not specifically about the meetup, but I do have a spot on my floor if anyone's coming for a few days. Not going to say it's comfortable, but if you need a place to crash briefly, it's free. EDIT: Sounds like it's going to be Friday night, in Shinchon. Here are the polls for type of food and exact meeting time. Thursday Update: We're making reservations in Shinchon for a Meat BBQ place at 8:30. I will have exact details on the name and the subway exit we should meet at soon(plan to meet at 8:00). The price is 8000, plus 5000 for any leftovers you leave. Making reservations for 30, so should be able to fit anyone and everyone.
Some people are also planning to meet earlier, around 5:00 in Shinchon to check out the arcades, pcbangs, etc. I will also post the exact details of that here soon.

I might be able to show up on Friday if we meet. Only problem is that I have Taekwondo practices until 9 pm so.
Otherwise, meeting up on Saturday would be neat. Will bring alone the short Korean guy I was standing next to as well if we need somebody that can speak Korean fluently. |

I don't know what's happening with my schedule so far this week. At worst, I would meet you guys on Saturday sometime during the day.

I'm up for a meet, already met some pretty awesome people the last couple of days. The Korean BBQ place sounds good however if we need to go somewhere cheaper I understand.
Also, I have a spare ticket so if we meet before the finals I can give that to someone.

This should probably be moved to the TL community forum.
I'm definitely going, and my schedule worked out pretty well, so I can go reasonably early on Saturday to wait in line for tickets. I don't have one at the moment since I couldn't go to any of the earlier matches.
I think it would be better for us to meet for lunch on Saturday rather than try and do dinner. The finals are likely to finish pretty late, and people who don't live in central Seoul will have to leave before the last bus/train, which wouldn't give us a lot of time.
I wouldn't usually pay more than about 15k for a meal, but I'm up for anything in terms of food choice. |

Where I am (Bucheon, there are a bunch of Pc bangs and cheap food, plus a arace as well.
I also know of a Korean BBQ place in Mok-Dong that has all you can eat for 16,000 a person. So that might be a good place to eat cheap. |

I have no idea, I've never been in it, it looks decent,now that I'm thinking though, I know there is one right beside the station itself, so that would make 2 arcades, they both look decent, though I have no idea about the games they have. but there are 2 really big PC bangs right by my place and the food here is super cheap, plus there are some american style resturants for those that aren't into the whole Korean BBQ thing.
But Bucheon in General, there is a lot of stuff to do, and everything is close together, so finding things is easy.

and Sichon isn't far (unless I'm looking at the wrong station) its right on line 2 right? if thats correct, its pretty central in seoul.
whatever everyone is up for. My budget is 50,000 for the day so as lon as its not somewhere super expensive I'm up for anything. |

Guys as a courtesy to those of the less fortunate ones, make sure to take as many pictures as you possibly can of your journey in S.Korea for such event. It would be greatly appreciated. Or you can even video tape the atmosphere if possible.

I'm asking around about some other places since the 35-40k range seems to be too much for a number of people. Obviously keep the suggestions coming from you guys, as well. Just remember that we need a place that's going to be able to fit a large number of people (which is unfortunate since many of the good and cheap places I've been to are really small).
Sounds like Friday night is the best time. I forgot about getting people back if the finals take a while, so let's go with that. I work until 4:30, and sounds like some people want to be up early, so 6:00-7:00 start time for the dinner?
supernovamaniac, with all the help you've provided by getting people info on this, you've at least got to come to dinner. |
