Hi.
I played through the campain when the game was released and the hardest mission by far for me was In Utter Darkness.. It was atleast twice as hard as any other mission I played.
Today I decided to play it again after not doing single player for over 1 year atleast, and to my surprise I completed In Utter Darkness 2500 kills with ease o:..
So I wonder, have this mission (brutal) been nerfed since the game was released? |

| Clearly whatever skills you've picked up in multiplayer over the last two years don't carry over to the single player, thus the only logical conclusion must be that Blizz stealth-nerfed the mission sometime inbetween... |

For those unaware (it seems to be a lot of people) there are a lot of people on YouTube and B.Net who have at times suggested that patches have tweaked the campaign in various ways. Whilst it's not the case, it's not unreasonable that someone who hasn't actively read all the little changes of every patch might believe some levels have been nerfed.
To confirm the answer though, the campaign hasn't been changed since release except for bug fixing.Last edit: 2012-08-02 06:51:55 |

When you've gotten good, most of brutal will seem like a joke. =P It's fine though. Brutal lived up to its name in the first year of SC2 for most of us.
I mean, I can regularly score 3450+ kills on Utter Darkness Brutal with ease. No dark templars needed. |

| I played the mission recently (like three weeks ago) for the achievement and got 2.9k kills on Brutal. I just did it again out of curiosity after reading this thread and I got 2.8k, and it felt the same. It might have gotten "nerfed" at some point since release, but I'd guess that it's just that you've gotten better. |

Yeah I was a little surprised at how incredibly easy the campaign is on brutal now. Skill makes a big difference  |

Me too, I remember struggling like hell and doing missions by the neck of the teeth on brutal. When I decided to do it again, I finished the Brutal in 2 days and almost no restarts between missions. |
