It sounds dumb to be perfectly honest.
In my current state, I love life, but even at the age of 25 years old I can feel things getting duller and duller. I can only imagine what it will be like past the age of 60...
We don't need this, if you are so scared of death just deal with it, you won't know about it once it's happened. |

Didn't Michio Kaku or some other popular scientist state that aging won't be a problem in the very near future anyways, since we'll be able to remove the "wear and tear" from cell division like in reptiles that have an infite life-span?

1. imagine if stalin had imortality. imagine if the european colonialists had imortality, imagine if the currently ruling capitalist class had imortality. imagine if the feudal lords and kings had imortality.
the only thing humanity can count on is that the terrible people in power will eventually die and hopefully their successors have been socialized in a slightly better environment.
2. HOWEVER. i think there is so much we can do and achieve as humans that our lifetimes are too short. perhaps 200 to 600 years will allow us to experience all that is good in life. or perhaps a few thousand years. I mainly got this from the death with shelly kagen lectures |

I'm just wondering. Has a "possible by year ___" prediction for technology ever come true?

dull? life? theres so many things in this world u haven't experienced and will never experience, i wouldnt say life is dull and gets duller as you age. an eternity of the mundane is a different story, then you'd just be begging to die. either way the prospect of immortality is not the fear of death but the fear that the time is too short for you to accomplish what you want in life. my fear of this sort of immortality is having to experience everyone i meet and love in this world die off as i live on for eternity. |

If you have a hologram, the hologram is still vulnerable to the outside world.
And the option "i don't want to live forever" is stupid, because you can choose to stop the hologram right?

IMO technology like this shouldn't exist. Immortality isn't really feasible to 'inspire mankind and bring about a better age' |

| I wouldn't do it just because in 2045 I would be 55 years old and I don't want to live like an old man forever. If I were born in something like 2025 then I would do it for sure. |

| Man i love all these 20 somthing year olds saying they dont care to live past 60-70, just like the old cant apreciate what its like to be young in our generatiion the young can't imagine what its like to be old, say things like i dont want to live past 60 if you havent got there yet and it might come back to bite you in the ass. |
