"Eclypsia is very happy to announce a new player has joined its Stracraft II professional team : Jeffrey, « SjoW » Brusi.
This 26 years old Swedish gamer is already famous on the esport stage. He first started playing Warcraft III before he changed for Stracraft II right after the beta was released. And it all started very well. He indeed won his very first tournament, the Inferno Online Cup, defeating one of the best, MorroW, two weeks only after the game was released. He also won different other competitions such as the IEM Season V European tournament, the IeSF 2011 World Championship and The Gathering. Quite lucky in MLG, he reached the 5th seat in 2010 (and the 8th one the year after that).
SjoW also made a name for himself in October 2011 while playing GSL Code A. Invited after his great performance in MLG, he got rid of Maka in the first round before he lost against Curious. He indeed is among the few European gamers who won a game in this pitiless competition by GOM.TV. The next season, he withdrew to go back to Sweden and won his last big title shortly after that: Grubby’s tournament, fourth edition.
Sjow remained more discreet after that and yet very efficient, reaching the DreamHack Stockholm‘ s fifth seat in April 2012. After a short break to discover Diablo II, he came back to Bizzard’s RTS title.
After Dignitas with whom he used play, SjoW now joins Eclypsia with one main goal: get back to the European Top Level and achieve some new great results in international tournaments together with his Scandinavian team-mate, Welmu.

Typically the answer is "Better terms", but who knows. I didn't think Eclypsia had deep pockets, and their reputation might not be the best. But then again, what do any of us know. |

Dignitas is famous for low/non-existant salaries, preferring to send players to events and not over extend
I imagine EC just offered sjow more money so he took the deal, it was obviously what he was looking for during his hiatus from the team.
TBH Sjow has fallen off, which makes me sad because his hellion play back in late 2010 made me play terran, hopefully he can make a come back but my money would be him disappearing from the circuit by the time his contract is up
