Another moron (the incident) who shows how Americans neglect their children.
Allowing child to play a rated R game and let him play for 5 days without understanding that simply it is not possible to survive like this.
It's not a case of child neglect. It's a case of a moron who should not be a parent in the first place.

Not drinking for 4 days is a bad idea.
Now time for the media to get up in arms and tell the world how terrible video games are and how they are going to kill us all. |

There's nothing wrong with letting a kid play a rated M game. It's up to the parent to decide whether or not their kid is able to handle it.
What's much more alarming is that his parents allowed him to play for four straight days with no water...wtf were they doing?

| Typical dumbass kid. Maybe if he payed a little more attention in school he would know that playing games for 4-5 days straight is not possible without food and water. |

err It's not just americans you dope. If you think Americans are the only people who neglect their children then you have a huge wake up call lol.
Also I do agree the parents should have stopped it as it's their responbility, not the games fault the kid was an idiot who dehydrated himself (like wtf I could never do that playing a game I NEED to eat/drink). |

| I don't get the media's bias to bash video gamers whenever they can; fact of the matter is, I bet you can find more cases of kids (and even adults) collapsing due to dehydration from real physical sports than from video games (especially given these hot weathers), but yet they never make a big deal out of those cases. |

By age 15 I'm pretty sure I understood along with any other kid who payed attention in class that the human body needs food and water to survive.

Yeah this is a great mixture of poor parenting and a dumb kid. It's the parents responsibility to make sure their kid is, you know, eating and drinking things and getting sleep so he can survive, but at the age of the 15 the kid should know better than to stay up for that many days in a row without sustenance. I mean really, how else did he think it was going to turn out?
The fact it was MW3 is a non-issue, it would be just as stupid if he was playing chess or reading an incredibly long book (or multiple). |

It seems to me it should read "neglecting routine hydration poses health problems." This had nothing specifically to do with video games, could have happened while reading a book or playing Yahtzee. |
