Hello!
I just moved into my new apartment recently and had my internet set up two nights ago through Comcast. The modem is DCP3008 and the router is Linksys e1200. On Wednesday night, I set it up and everything worked really well. On Thursday morning, I woke up and my internet was not working on my phone (android) or on my laptop (windows). However, my roommate was still receiving an internet connection on both his phone (android) and his laptop (apple). Well, needless to say, this made no sense to either of us. I hooked my laptop directly to the modem, which did give me internet. I ended up reinstalling the router with the installation disc and then the internet worked just fine again.
However, last night, it bugged out and stopped functioning on my phone. I figured the same would eventually happen with my laptop - but maybe it didn't affect my roommate because he didn't shut off his computer Wednesday night. So, I left my laptop on and this morning I woke up to only 3 websites working: Facebook, gmail, and Teamliquid (probably my 3 most visited websites). None of the other sites I've tried have worked. Ventrilo does not work. League of Legends does not work.
Does anyone know what the issue is? I'm thinking I'll just return this router and grab a new one at this point, unless a fix is possible. |
