It's funny how all of you guys seem to have been impressed by Ironsquid, have enjoyed it, whereas when I connected myself on the english chat, I only read insults towards Pomf & Thud (and the french in general), the show, and anti-french comments.
Glad to see it wasnt unanimous 
Cant wait for iron squid 2 !

the tournament was good, but the english stream was absolutely atrocious. i really hope they get on location casters for it this time, the re streaming of a restream is just stupid
plus, we're english, of course we were talking shit about the french, its what we do

That being said BobPerfid is absolutely right, it wasn't funny, it was very hateful actually, nothing like the traditional puns between the Brits and the Frenchies, which I like very much.
Yanks are obsessed with the French, maybe because they didn't fully appreciate the "go fuck yourself" they received for the war in Iraq? Maybe because some of them watch Fox and are now pretty sure that France is in fact a district of North Korea where we live in houses made from bidets? Who knows.

The main informations are :
- The tweet about the Iron squid 2 was posted a bit too early, this was not an official announcement.
- Iron Squid 2 will start soon.
- Many korean players want to participate.
- There will be more live matches (only replay casting for the first edition).
- Probably a different format.
- The finals will take place in Paris, in a bigger (!!) venue than Le Grand Rex.
And a funny fact about the first tournament : before the end of the group stage, they had yet bought 4 tickets Seoul/Paris.
Thud also explains the fact that many competitions request a HD pass is due to AdBlock which hurt a lot the ad revenue on the streams. |
