| They have nothing to win and everything to lose by playing WCS. Even by beating Jaedong or someone like that, people would be able to see how close they are, and even if they were very far apart, people would be able to tell that MVP and MC's reign will be shortly coming to an end with HotS. Ah, so sad. Oh well, hopefully they can show good games at Gamescom.
If they win gamescom or place well they could do better than if they played in WCS I guess. |

They were both in losers bracket so they would had played many games to even try to win it all, I think it's safer for them to go to gamescom and try to win more money there against foreigners  |

For mc i got no clue might be the money and mvp is "forced" by lg...but what you don't understand is that even though wcs korea matches in prize pool with iem...it is just a qualifier for wcs asia and then for wcs finals. |

| Well sponsors have a word too. Otherwise reddit wouldn't spam sponsors with mails, if they dislike something. Always annoying if you don't find a reshedule, but nya bigger more established event wins in that case. |

In terms of SC2 WCS>IEM. But in terms of esports IEM>WCS. An important thing to consider here is that IM is sponsored by Intel, which practically makes sense why they would prioritize IEM over WCS. Also LG Electronics will have a booth at Gamescom, so that's another reason. SK Gaming is a german based organization and a lot of there sponsors have ties to the german market, so that makes sense as well (MC Attended every German IEM event last year). |
