I used to be able to watch streams on 720p and higher without stuttering and now it's not watchable. Streams in 480p lag a bit too and even 360p lags. I was watching IEM earlier and 240p started stuttering as well. Youtube and other stream sites like Own3d.tv seem to work just fine in HD. Here is what speedtest.net told me.

Any help is appreciated.

Well it's definitely not your internet, so it's got to be a software issue. Most obvious attempted fixes would be updating Adobe Flash and your graphics card drivers as well as trying it on different browsers.

Yes, I'd suggest that you update flash, change your flash storage settings to 10M or unlimited, in addition experiment with turning hardware acceleration on and off, some motherboards/graphics cards/processor combinations don't properly support hardware acceleration even if they claim to. If you still have issues we can look at it further.

I switched my flash storage to unlimited and toggled with hardware acceleration. I still have a lot of lag.

Those are the main things, if you had over to the TSL stream lag thread, there's a google form for you to fill out, please do so and we might be able to bring our findings to twitch if it's a netwroking issue.

I have the same issue lately. What helps is not using fullscreen, and closing down any memory-hungry applications I have running, such as skype, thunderbird (with tens of thousands of emails...), and my text editor with 20 tabs open.

That is certainly a good suggestion, sometimes the issue isn't always memory in use (volume) but the speed at which various parts of memory are being accessed and changed, or the memory bandwidth. I haven't done any tests on this (and I don't thin R1CH has either, yet) but if you have a lot of memory bandwidth intensive applications open while trying to watch streams, you're probably going to have a bad time.

I only have the stream open and maybe one other tab in Chrome. Nothing else memory intensive is running in the background.
