Hey everyone, NinjaX here with a quick guide. The strategy is based on using Bounty Hunter to shut down Lycan. This piece of knowledge is passed on to me indirectly from Dendi. You basically sit in the jungle and last hit all his farm until he becomes so weak that he can't even do anything mid-game. I can imagine some counters to this strategy like sentries, but I think there are ways to play around it anyways.

very nice. will defenitly try that...but its so sad that noone came and helped him....if a support comes from top lane (when u have solo suicide lane or something) plants a ward around the most important spots and starts to harrase you, you will be the one ending up with 0 XP . but because noone really is used to that tricky situation and pubs sometimes lack good support, it will defenitly work many times specially in lwoer levels. also if the lycan stays calm and isnt going into rage mode or wastes time yelling at his teammates he should do alot better than this poor guy :D

i was theorycrafting this in my head a while back but i figured i'd lose out more as BH than lycan since he can just go back to lane or even go to my jungle.
OMG haha I'd do this any time the opposing team would pick Lycan and usually it isn't worth it but it pisses them off so much that it makes it a moral victory.

This shouldn't work on dire jungle, you can chain pull VERY easily with wolves. 200 for sentries + 4 creeps to help and BH is forever at lvl 1. Maybe on radiant, but the middle tower+hero will get you wrecked if they have a clue. Last time I saw this the Lycan on my team had a 30min full inventory and stormed the base with rapier vs. a lvl 10 BH (trying to find the replay).
Fun pub strat against lycans that are too attached to their wolves and can only a-move, that's all.
chinese been doing this for ages, its pretty old school bm playstyle. either way i dont play bh like a hard carry so this works out for me, and you can easily make up for the gold ur losing with track/ganks+ its something for lycans to think about.
yeah, if you ever face this just go to lane and send your wolf to pull while gaining EXP from lane. You could still easily out level + farm the BH if you do it correctly. Competitive games you can just sentry that shit off using supports until level 3(?) and buy a pack of dust. Have a support with stun hiding in fog and 2v1 BH when he come harass you.
Lycan is pretty much unstopable unless you constantly gank him all game long. There were times i went 0-5 starting but still find room to grow and finish the game before 25 mins mark.

This sort of makes me want to play against Lycan just to piss him/her off. I can see it being stopped pr not working so well but for the chance that it does work, totally worth it.
