Hello, I recently (today) bought a Steelseries Sensei mouse and downloaded/installed the Steelseries engine. The problem is that I cannot open the Steelseries Engine (does not show up in device manager, system tray etc.)
I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (genuine), 8GB ram, i7 and enough hard drive. I contacted Steelseries support but I want a quick(er) reply.
Thank you for any opinion to as where my problem is.
Edit: When I double click on the Steelseries Engine, nothing pops up...
Edit2: I previously used a Razer Deathadder 3.5 and the synapse driver is still there because I am still using the Razer Blackwidow keyboard. But my sisters computer (previously mine) has the seperate deathadder and blackwidow drivers and when I installed the steelseries engine, it wouked fine.Last edit: 2012-08-21 00:10:26 |

Not even in ''all programs'' ? check in task manager if u dont have several ''SSengine'' open
Try to deinstall/reboot/reinstall it.

| You should check whether the process is there before you double click on it. If it's there then the problem lies probably with the Engine interface. I would suggest checking whether you have .net 3.0 or 4.0 installed and see if that solves your problem. Hope this helps. |

Any action on this? I'm in the same boat as OP. Can't run Steelseries Engine after installing it.
Not only that, but our history is the same: Had a Deathadder 3.5 mouse, kept the Synapse driver after unplugging it because I have a BlackWidow keyboard.Last edit: 2012-09-26 11:57:10 |

| Uninstall SSengine, uninstall Synapse, use one of many reliable registry cleaners to remove the now-invalid entries, install SSengine, install Synapse. At least in theory, that should work, given past experience with Synapse and its unnatural need for attention and affection. |

I liked those suggestions, so I did all that and even rebooted after the registry clean. Unfortunately after installation when I try to run the program I get an error that reads:
SteelseriesEngine.exe - Application Error The exception unknown software exception (0xe0434352) occured in the application at location 0x75889673
I'm going to give up. Most .NET programs are buggy for me so I guess I'll just wait until my next windows reinstall to change my mouse color
Thanks for the efforts chiflutz and everybody else. |

Deinstall Synapse Driver! Then install Steelseries Engine and the usual Driver for your Black Widow and all will work nice. Synapse and Steelseries are in War ^^( will not work if both installed ) greez |

| Removing synapse was the first thing I did, and even did that registry clean to be thorough. SS engine and .NET hooked up and made a baby called application error all on their own. |
