So I just installed Blizzard's anthology on my laptop, and not only does it most of the time say that it's not installed properly (after 4 re-installs) when trying to log into any server (private or battle.net), but it doesn't stretch to my screen. It sits in a black space on both sides both about 1/4 the width of my monitor, and BW sits in a W-Mode size in the middle of my screen.
Has any encountered this or know what the problem is, or how to fix it?
If not, does anyone have a StarCraft and BroodWar ISO that they'd be willing to upload and PM me?
It's seriously frustrating, I'll edit this once I post it, but I want to start streaming regularly when my monitor, keyboard, ethernet, and hdmi get to my new apartment, which has been blogged about.
I have downloaded iCCup's version, and a torrent off of ThePirateBay, but nothing works, if anyone is going to suggest that.

| I just play it with the black bars on the side lol, at first I was annoyed but now I've gotten use to them, tho if u do find a way to fix it post it in here |

| Wait does bw go from top to bottom of the screen, and u just have black bars left and right? Cause that's the proper aspect ratio and idk why u'd wanna change it. The units look like crap when its stretched. |

If you have an ATI card open the driver catalyst control center > Digital Panel > Attributes > Maintain aspect ratio. There should be something similar for Nvidia cards. |

| Do you mean you have black bars on all sides? Top, bottom, right, left and the screen is really small in the centre? I've had that once with one desktop, but I never found a solution. I did experiment once, switching monitors and computers, but I can't remember the results. I think it was the computer that was screwing it up, but I could be mis-remembering. Windowed mode was annoying because the min/vespene/ and supply were all hidden as well as some of buttons on the right menu. Last edit: 2012-08-20 11:02:49 |

You have to adjust your video graphics card settings to get those black bars on the side:
For Nvidia users (I have an Nvidia card and this is how I got the black bars on the side for BW):
1. Make sure to update your graphics driver to the latest version.
2. Under the display tab, click the 'Adjust desktop size and position' option.
3. Set scaling mode to 'Aspect ratio'
4. Select Perform scaling on: 'GPU'
5. Check the option 'Override the scaling mode set by games and programs.'
I guess for other graphics drivers look for similar options or something. |

| I've had this problem a long time ago. I dont remember how i fixed it tho but i think it's something with ur graphics settings. You should check that first. |

I do had a Nvidia graphics card >.<
Why do people want this? I've played it stretched since 1998 and this is the first time I've encountered it. It's a big problem for high level gaming because it's hard to focus on detail.

Actually, I want 4:3 ratio BW on my screen :O
My old laptop with intel integerated video card played that way (4:3) and there was no way to fix it. First, I didn't like it but when I got a new laptop, it automatically made it 16 and everything looked stretched. lol
Not sure about Nvidia graphic card but if you got old intel graphic card, then you are stuck with black bars. |

That's how the game was designed to be played, and while appearance is a matter of taste, I imagine most people wouldn't prefer a stretched view of everything. |

I already said that my instructions will give you the black bars.
To stretch the screen just check 'full screen' instead of 'aspect ratio.' |

Btw, try to find settings for "panel fitting," which is the term used for this type of thing. Ideally, as everyone is saying, you want "aspect ratio," which scales the image to you resolution, maintaining aspect.
If you simply do stretch, you'll get a warped version of BW. Get used to the black bars on the side. :o) |

This indeed would work, but after updating to the latest drivers for my HD3000 (checked that's what I have), I can't toy with my options. There are no options. There is what it's set to, and nothing else. FML. |

| if all else fails; you can just decrease the resolution of your monitor to minimum every time you want to play bw, then change it back after. |
