Battlefield 3 error, can't connect

via one of my friends having an issue with connecting to a variety of games for more than a few mins:

Hey guys, having an issue with bf3
When I join a game after about 5 or so minutes of play I get kicked out of the game and it throws this error "Game disconnected: your connection to the server timed out."
If I attempt to re join a server the game then throws this error "Game disconnected: could not join server."
The only way to play anoter 5 minutes is to restart my computer.
Ideas?

Furthermore I have fios and a bigfoot killer 2100 NIC so pleanty of internet speed and low ping. Thanks again

specs:

CPU: i7-2600k
GPU:2x GTX480
RAM: 16GB corsair vengence
Bigfoot killer2100 NIC

TESTED: everyworks when i plug it into the normal ethernet port rather than the bigfoot, however some games work some dont and ive already returned the bigfoot to see if that worked but it doesnt so i guess its some setting with it?

Does BF3 run Punkbuster?
That is the cause of a lot of (easily fixable) errors.

Usually the solution was to re-download the .exe or main punkbuster file for the game.

Are you using realtek hd onboard audio? That's been known to not work well with PB/BF3. Particularly if other software is using the audio drivers at the same time.

Well, odds are it's still PB related, unfortunately, it's just one of those things. There's too many things it could be interacting randomly with. I asked specifically about the sound card, because if it's the Realtek onboard, a $30 Xonar can fix it. Or at least, it did for me.

@jinglehell obviously its not punkbuster related if it works with the normal ethernet port. it just doesnt work in the big foot network card, and it always doesnt work in dayz. please think twice besides posting worthless information

Right. Because software can't have stupid interactions with drivers. That's why putting in an aftermarket sound card and disabling my onboard fixed the problem for me.

it has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SOUND if it works in the normal ethernet ports just fine and i already mentioned he has an x-fi platinum sound blaster card which is a 150$ sound card. so it disables realtek sound automatically
