Sup fellow starcraft players/fans. I've been in Nanjing for a little over a month now and I was wondering if there are (m)any SC fans in the lower Yangtze river delta. I know there are many foreign exchange students and English teachers in Korea, which has a vibrant TL community. Since there are quite a lot of foreigners in Shanghai and Nanjing there's gotta be TL'ers out there. It would be awesome to meet up or even host a barcraft sometime if we get this rolling. Since the time difference with Korea is so small a GSL finals barcraft is not out of the question. There's like a hundred million people living in the Yangtze river delta so we gotta represent SC . And with so many people out here there have to be Chinese liquidians as well. I would love to meet Chinese starcraft fans.
So if you're interested let it be known.
Thomas ( Nanjing )

Hello!
I am a student in Shanghai, Sadly Blizzard in China did not care about foreigners so they sold out all the tickets in Chinese for WCS. I have been in contact with Blizzard Europe and they just don't have a clue as all sales information was in Chinese. This was of course very frustrating to find out using a translator.. I don't speak Chinese, but if anyone knows if there is still possible to get hold of tickets, (from someone batching up or something) then please let me know!
Other than that, I haven't met any other foreigners into SC2 yet, so I like the purpose of this thread! |

Blizzard simply assuming no foreigner are/would come in China to watch. Kind of silly since the game is not successful at all with Chinese audiences, making it accessible for foreigners willing to come would make sense.
Some Chinese websites sold tickets, and you'll probably be able to buy tickets there in the morning because there's no way that the stadium will be full. I went to Asia finals, and only 20% of the seats were occupied....and that was the event with all the local Chinese stars... |

Ahhhh, well there are of course some passionate foreigners that would travel all the way to Shanghai. and yeah, I fully agree. Very silly move. But okay, a question then. About the commentating/hosting live for the WCS Asia, was it in Chinese or English? I remember watching some of it live from home on Twitch, but from what I could tell it was hosted in Chinese and that there was only English on the stream. |

| Okay, so It looks like TL just gave me a ticket from that sign up thing they had a couple of months ago! However, Endy, if you can get your hold on some other tickets, I would love to bring a friend of mine who is interested in going. Please update me when you know more! |

Never mind, ignore my comment above, it looks like Blizzard's giveaway worked and I got my ticket a few hours ago ! Just incredibly weird that neither Blizzard or TL gave an email confirmation for registering to the give away or even less an estimated date for the results. Actually I participated multiple giveaways for those tickets, and I don't even know from which website I got the ticket I received this morning. Anyway, looks like the organization was messy, but I got a ticket. !
edit : even messier than I thought, I participated to multiple giveaways and now I got two tickets with the exact same name on it lol.
To answer your question, commentating was only in Chinese for the WCS Asia, but that made sense. The venue was pretty bad as well.

Excellent! Thanks for that. Ahh, yeah. What do you think for the World finals? Probably chinese too eh? Guess I gotta start practicing my StarCraft chinese vocab haha. But yeah, if there is a possibility of getting one more ticket that'd be great! My friend, who unfortunately wasn't able to sign up for this, would love one haha.
We should also start a TL WCS Meet up thread or something. Awesome stuff! Looking forward to it. |

Yeah, it will be in Chinese as most of the audience will be Chinese and it's kind of impossible to have dual casting in a stadium haha.
I'll start the meet up thread.
