This thread is meant to be an informative guide to help those who are currently seeking to join an in house league or are looking to improve.
NADIHL was founded very recently by Mekro as a place for players who wish to compete in a serious environment, it's skill level is based around low-mid skill.
This skill levels are based on the scaling spoilered below: + Show Spoiler +
low = little to no competitive experience and has mostly played matchmaking
mid = have played a fair amount of scrim games and have competed in numerous tournaments
high = a player who often plays with other pro players and has had many top tournament finishes
Mekro's goal with this league is to create a league for players with little competitive experience and even those with a lot of experience to practice together and improve. The league requires the use of IRC (Internet Relay Chat) and RaidCall (A VoIP program) to be eligible to play.
How to use IRC:
First you need to register on Quakenet and create an IRC account, here's a link telling you how to do so:
The gist of the rules are to be manner to your peers and to enjoy the game. Nobody likes losing and people won't always get along, just try and keep the league enjoyable for yourself and others.
How to use RaidCall:
I personally used this video to set up RaidCall and found it really easy to learn to use:
You can find all of the information on our server with the .RC command on IRC once you are authed and vouched.
Some random information about the league:
Presently there are over 200 players and normally the games players are from 4pm-2am EST. The league is based on USEast and normally has several games up at any time.
A prize pool is being added in the near future, and it will be decided by who finishes with the highest ranking at the end of a season.
I hope I answered most questions here and that anyone interested will come by and play some! If you have any more questions feel free contact to leave ask them on this thread, or on the NADIHL home site, http://nadihl.com/, or send me a friend request on steam and ask, http://steamcommunity.com/id/MeKro
I look forward to playing with you guys!

I'm confused as to how the skill levels will work since the only experience that seems to matter is how many scrims etc you payed but not how good you are at actual DotA..?

It definitely matters how good you are - the point that I was trying to make is that people are often mislead about their skill level by public games. Many people think that if they dominate public games that they are 'high skilled' when in reality your competitive skill level is more about your reputation and what you've done and accomplished (ergo if you're really good you've accomplished more).
