Starting today, you’ll see the new Microsoft logo being used prominently.
Instead of the classic thick, black, italicized font Microsoft’s used for decades, the new company logo is a study in simpler, thinner lines and grayscale coloring.
According to Microsoft general manager of brand strategy Jeff Hansen, it’s all part of Microsoft’s strategy to give its mainstream products — Windows 8, Windows Phone 8, the Xbox 360 (technically “Xbox services”) as well as Microsoft Office — a “common look and feel.”
Wha do you guys think about it? Reminds me of the change in Gap logo some time back, but this might work for Microsoft. I like it. |

Oh yeah, I saw this on the verge. Ridiculous amount of bickering going on in the comments lol.
I think it looks alright. Some people mentioned that it looks like the logo is sort of a devolution, and others brought up that these designs may have a cycle of changes that loops back. |

| I didn't mind the old one, but at first glance I wasn't too fond of this one. Watching the video on the page from the link in the OP makes it more palatable. |

| Don't really know what was wrong with the old one. It's not as if it was all crazy with shit everywhere. It was the same thing except more of a flag shape and bolder "Microsoft." New one looks like a hobo that washed up on a beach. |
