Coming to you... September 2012
The Brood War Daily is exactly what the title would suggest... Starcraft Brood War, every day of the week. Now, this project only starts mid to late September (potentially early October), but I just wanted to get the word out so that you guys know what's coming down the road. Realistically, the Brood War Daily is guaranteed to run up through Euro (since many people are sceptical about the prize being in one big dish out), at the very least now you'll be able to win money just about every day of the week.
The way this works is we'll be looking for people to donate between fifteen minutes to an hour of their time for Brood War every day and simply say, okay, all salary for this next fifteen minutes is for Brood War. With this, I'm hoping to reach at least $50 per day with our current standing for $20. I know you guys can do it! 
So, without further a do, here are the themes
Sunday's Showdown
This theme will either feature a show match between individual players and/or teams. Every now and then we will have either a rival showdown or a high stakes showdown depending on the availability. This day will probably bring you the tip top level games of all which you'll see in the dailies.
Funday Monday
This second theme will feature a variety of quirky maps, formats and restrictions. This day of the week is primarily intended for a good laugh, however, we might also enter build restrictions to force macro games. It's all going to depend on what the fans and the players call for. Who knows, we might even throw in some 2v2.
Nooby Toosdays
To all you B- ranks who've been complaining there's nothing for you! Well here it is, this event will ONLY be open to C+/B- ranks, lower ranks may be admitted if the sign ups are too short. These games are focused primarily on improvement, there's really not much else to it... They won't be the highest quality games you've ever seen.
Classic Wednesdays
The title of this one gives it away as do the rest of them, Wednesdays will be reserved for old and favourite maps. So, if you show up on Wednesday, don't be afraid to see Python, Lost Temple and Fighting Spirit in the same map pool, because that could definitely happen.
Thursday Early Bird
Only open to European players.
Friday Late Night
Only open to American players.
Saturday's king of the week
Saturdays will have the instalment of an international king of the hill to which all prize winners of the week must be present unless good reason is presented for them to absent themselves. The remaining 10 slots will then be filled through sign ups.
Caster: Hacklebeast, EleGanT (caster applications are open simply given how many games there will be... It's a lot)
Prize Per Day: $20
The e-mail for tournament registrations will be given at a later time and the sign up process will more or less work like an elo system. It will take into account player performance, but it will also take into account number of tours seen in this week and reliability. I am hoping to make the priority system more clear and have a better way to keep track of it by the time the Daily swings around.

I do my best :1... I hope this really catches on, because then we could potentially get several more people donating to it even if it's just 1 hour per week, it's still a huge push toward foreign Brood War. (since there are many more fans than days of the week) |

I already am. But since my streaming is exclusively casts, I'm listed as "other" rather than player (or whatever the alternative is). if you don't see me on the side next time I'm on: Ctrl+f for my name, and if that doesn't work you need to mess with your filters till I pop up.

iCCup and I have a mutual trade agreement...

Eywa, I already considering renaming it to Blitz anyway. Your hurting yourself and attempts to make this community more in sync with each other, I love this idea of your. For your events, for the players they can now get coverage of a show dedicated to bring news of brood war. Also ICCL is literally dead right now. Actually their are no CW admins at the moment.
Also if you reference the show I will not name so I don't "advertise" here actually covers mainly events that are not iccup related. Actually the only iCCup related was the the lack of admins that CL has. Everything else was actually related to other events. We spent like 30 minutes talking about Gambit Cup.
So you don't want to associate with me Pucca or Fitz, or iCCup.Fitz whatever my alias is. One thing I can tell you is that I make quality videos. Being from production quality of BLITZ, my overlay that takes advantage of all the space available. And also my good microphone settings.
Eywa I understand you have a past history with iCCup and I'm very sorry how they treated with you. But I cannot fix that take the events I make. ICCup does not run BLITZ I do. Who made my overlay? I did (hired graphic artist), who bought my S use SM7B? I did, iCCup really has no dictation what I do. So I hope we could work together for the benefit for both f us making better content for the better of the Brood War community.
I mean no disrespect but one person cannot run brood war alone, exactly the reason why you branched out to hacklebeast and elegant, shimy, and any other persons you work with. Why am I so so different?Last edit: 2012-08-24 10:46:22 |
