SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA. - SEPTEMBER 1, 2012. - Today Evil Geniuses (EG), North America's premier professional gaming team, and SlayerS Clan, one of South Korea’s most prestigious StarCraft 2 teams, announce that they have mutually agreed to part ways.
The partnership between EG and SlayerS, which allowed for a combined SlayerS-EG GSTL presence as well as EG players’ consistent inhabitance in the SlayerS training facility in Seoul Korea, spanned more than ten months and was overall very beneficial for both teams. However, after almost a year together, SlayerS and EG have agreed that it is in the best interests of both parties to go their separate ways.
Evil Geniuses' General Manager, Cody Conners, remarked, "SlayerS was extremely accommodating, and we're grateful for their hospitality. They took care of PuMa, JYP, IdrA, HuK, and ThorZaIN while our relationship lasted. Without their help, our efforts in Korea wouldn't have been nearly as effective."
Added EG CEO Alexander Garfield, “We are very grateful for Jessica and all of SlayerS’ assistance as an EG partner over the past year, but now’s the right time for us to head our separate ways.”
SlayerS Clan will compete in the upcoming GSTL season either by themselves or with a new team partner. Evil Geniuses will continue to maintain a strong, ongoing training and team presence in South Korea, the details of which will be released in the coming weeks.

Huh, I wonder what the real cause behind this is.

This can only mean one thing.
EG MMA

EG going to play in GSTL by themselves?
|
not surprising considering EG has zero players who have ever achieved anything.
|
No more jyp in teamleague T_T...
|
EGKR house? EGT8?!?!?! God, EG buying T8. EG.Jaedong. Wish this would happen.
|
not surprising at all. with the department of Boxer, and the kespa people entering the scene, there is not much point of a partnership anymore^^ i also doubt we will see many more koraens in foreigner teams

|
Aww, hopefully EG will pick up some SlayerS players or at the very least, play as their own team in GSTL.

Where is Huk going to stay?

Damn didn't realize Idra winning 3 or so tournaments last year was no results. Or Puma winning NASL season 2, or many of their other good results.
Man your stupidity just blew my mind.
On topic I am not surprised they disbanded. With boxer going to SKT I had imagined something like this would happen with slayers. I just wonder what's going to happen to the team.
I also wonder if this means EG will get a team house or something in korea (doubtful) but would be cool non the less.

EG is probably gonna sign stephano, and they already have a team that can do very well in Korea. Their line-up is pretty stacked, they will probably be more successful in sc2 if they move the EG lair out to Korea.
Huk, Idra, Thorzain, JYP and Puma are all capable of winning any event if they play their best. The rest of their team is very good as well, not to take away from any of them. If they pick up a guy like stephano, they will have a powerful GSTL lineup. The other guys on their team like Incontrol, LZgamer, Machine, and Demuslim are all certainly top 10 contenders but I don't see them making it to the finals of any major events. However, if they had the whole lineup together in Korea, who knows. We could see all of them become top contenders.

Yup. Crank has the foresight of a God. Poor MMA.

EG will confirm their signups of Stephano and formally enter the GSTL! (speculation mode).
