Hey Guys,
i made a little modification to the Daybreak map: I set movement speed, attack speed, building times, energy regeneration, mining rate etc. to 125%. Therefore you play effectively with game speed "faster" + 25%. The effect is simple: When you play this map for a few times, and then return to the normal "faster" gamespeed, it feels slower and you can do more actions per minute. Like you play a game with "normal" game speed.
There are many things i didn`t conform, like forcefield time, etc. Actually I made this map for me, to improve my skills, so I did not pay attention to every little detail. And I didn't want to waste too much time for changing every little aspect.
But feel free to check it out, and hf, perhaps it may help you to improve your APM.
name: "iF 125% Daybreak"
only on EU.

| This sounds so fun to try, I wish I had an EU account. Maybe I'll get lucky and it will spread. |

Except it fucks up your timings and you won't be able to slutter and you'll be queuing shit all over. |

You should not use the ingame clock as a measurement for the timings (like day9 does). In my opinion you should develop a game sense to get a feel of the game and when the opponent can have which unit from what you know. |

When I played in BW, on fast, I could micro my army at the same time as doing macro without losing much in the engagement. On Faster of Fastest, you lose a lot of micro power if you try and macro during an intense fight. This means the way you play the game is fundamentally different. On Faster/Fastest you try and gain focus to what you're doing: Micro or macro.
I guess it could help some because faster or fastest is about the same deal, with the focus on what you're doing.Last edit: 2012-09-02 20:59:53 |

| Really nice, this happens when I play on faster then play at the normal speed that you start on on vs AI for build testing. xD |

| its not really faster+25% if all you did was change movement and attack speed. There are a lot more things you need to change. mining time, for example. |

actually mining time is changed. I also changed acceleration of units, time for upgrades, cooldown of some abilities, energy regeneration rate if needed, building time of buildings, and so on... |

I didn't check it in your map, but I just want to drop my thoughts as a kind of checklist for you: - Time of persistent effects (e.g. mothership's vortex)? - Speed of projectiles (movers)? - Behavior durations (buffs (e.g. stim pack, chronoboost, ...), spawn behaviors (e.g. hatchery's larva spawn))? - Health/Shield regeneration? - morph time? - backswing time in weapons (backswing makes a unit stand on its position before changing targets by itself)? |

| I don't mean to upset you, as I'm sure you've put a lot of work into this map, but there's absolutely no need to change all the values manually in the data editor. You can just hop into the trigger editor and add the line "Game - Set the global time scale to 1.25" and it will automatically accelerate everything by 25% in a single line, and it will do it completely properly, whereas you probably would have missed dozens of more subtle things to change. Yup, would've saved you a lot of effort lol.
Kinda logical too, seeing that Blizzard has multiple game speeds; it should be simple for them to be able to change the game speed as well.
edit: On the map itself, this is kinda pointless to train, you're only making yourself play worse than before. In normal speed you would probably already miss a lot of stuff while microing macroing. (chronoboost/inject most likely, MULE is ezpz :<).
And your whole game sense just gets screwed up by it...Last edit: 2012-09-03 01:43:12 |

:D lol, I googled for sth like this but found nothing - fail XD
But I would not change it. Because I did not change the Force Field, Stim time, Vortex time, etc. . So the feeling how long the duration of FFs,... is, does not change.
Anyhow... kind of fail :D |

Hey Stips!
Nice map overall Only bug I noticed was Concussive Shells costing 100/100. You may want to check other upgrades as well.
Cheers! |
