This hasn't been confirmed.
Can an admin confirm how many spots come out of each invite qualifier? |

sounds reasonable considering the seeding imo but wow, 3 for such a stacked qualifier |

| Only 3 players qualifying out of 30 is quite brutal. I think the eSF players might be slightly incensed that the KeSPA players got weaker competition and skipped an entire round of qualifiers (referring to MvP Invitational). Last edit: 2012-09-26 21:52:59 |

Well it seems like Kespa's are the more welcome koreans these days . tbh I don't expect a foreigner to make it out of this MvP tournament besides the absolute minimum cause by the tournament modus...Last edit: 2012-09-27 00:37:50 |

Jesus, MLG, your seeding sucks. Titan vs Nerchio and Snute vs Babyknight first round while gaulzi, desrow and Destiny get byes.
I assume you got fucked over anyway because a lot of your qualified players are living in the Ministry of Win house and they had no internet at all yesterday according to Morrow, so they probably no-showed.
Dallas will be strange. You have six EU players fighting for two guaranteed spots they will earn by not losing as hard to Koreans as the other four will. They got there because you invited them for the MLG vs Proleague thing, but those will be the same old players who had the teams/sponsors with resources to send them to every MLG, that's how they got into the spot for the invites in the first place.
You won't even have Stephano because he'll play ESWC at the same time.
You have three spots from online qualifiers but there's hardly any new players in there, too, because of the way they're setup with MLG reinviting every other player who randomly won a couple of games in the open bracket against some fans who bought a competitor pass.
Looking at this mess, I miss IEM's qualifier system. They're not completely different, they also invite players but you almost always get some new faces in there, players who haven't been to as many tournaments and might break out soon, and the good part is that you feel like they're actually good and they deserve to be there since they fought through all the qualifiers.
To me, it seems like for the foreigner scene you're only keen on somewhat supporting North American talent (only somewhat, though) which is obviously easy because the players you focus on all come play in the Open Bracket anyway, you just have to give them some opportunities.
For Europeans, it seems like you're going "Ah, fuck it, we'll take the ones who come all the time, people know their faces and they probably pull the most viewers anyway". You don't seem to care or realize that the system you use for NA qualifiers doesn't work for EU qualifiers because almost no one from EU plays in the Open Bracket.
Seriously, if it's August 2012 and you're paying to fly out Goody to one of your biggest tournaments of the year, then you know there's something wrong with the system. I really like Goody, but objectively speaking, it's kinda true.
Naturally I'm biased because I'm primarily interested in Korean pros and the European players, but I have a hard time getting hyped for this event. Only interesting factor so far is four KeSPA players coming over but I can watch them play in OSL and GSL anyway.
By the way, dear MLG, since you wrote this on your bracket page:
Results must not be streamed or shared. MLG will broadcast Matches next week.
You might want to change your own website so that it's not easy as fuck to get the results from the very site that prohibits sharing results.
I didn't look for them this time, but it's still easy to find out.

2012 MLG Pro Circuit/Fall/Qualifier/Open
Wiki has them (well not the detailed results, but the end results as in the names of the pros who qualified).
Feast, Neytpoh, Pomi, Seiplo, Titan, Babyknight, Targa and Paranoid got through. Protoss galore, as always.Last edit: 2012-10-02 00:31:27 |

| Thanks, stuff from MLG is always so hard to follow. I just saw that WR4 matches from the invite EU qualifier are aired/played tonight. I go to LP to check the bracket... nothing, after long searching at MLG website i found a empty bracket. God, i guess im just a dumbass or something but i cant find shit when MLG runs something online. |

How the hell do you register for the invite-only tournament if you've been invited? this site is beyond a maze of links. I guess they do it by e-mail right?Last edit: 2012-10-11 17:21:36 |
