Today we are sad to announce the release of our DotA 2 squad, the decision comes after the requirements of the team were too high for the organisation to meet over a long period of time.
The DotA2 squad has been a part of Infused for the past 9 months, taking first place finishes in online cups such as Gosu League First Blood and Zowie DotA2 Challenge as well as second place finishes in ProDota2 League EU and D2E Challenge.
"Infused would like to officially confirm the release of the DOTA2 team from the organisation, after recent discussions it was clear that the DOTA2 Squad's requirements were more than the organisation would be able to support and maintain for a long period of time. With that in mind, we'd like to thank the team for their support and help over the past 9months and wish them good luck in the future." Infused Managment
"We have (after 9 good months together) decided to part ways with Infused. This decision didn't come easy as Infused Management has always been truthful to us and never broken any promises. We left due to us requiring more than they could provide for a longer period of time and due to their honesty about that we are leaving on good terms. The whole DOTA2 team would like to wish them the best of luck with their current and future teams and thank them for our time together!" Niklas 'Wagamama' Högström (Captain)
source: Team Infused
The great shuffle of 2012 has officially started.
Although this is probably one of the more positive break-ups as from what I gather it is because Infused (at least Waga) wants to take the game more seriously. They've been scrimming a lot lately. And persumably they just didn't believe that Infused was going to give them what they need in the long run. |

| It's not really a part of the shuffle when it's just a team leaving it's sponsor... No players are changing which hasn't been known for a long time.. |

, I hope Wagamama can find his place somewhere, I really like him. Looks like they were aiming higher, I hope a sponsor would look into them.Last edit: 2012-09-13 06:10:19 |

Different reasons for most teams. The ones that were straight up dropped (darer/m5/al) were quite simply not performing, for several months.
There will be a lot of player swaps because teams probably had restrictions for how much they could change their roster after being invited to the international / they didn't want to change it right before.
Infused in this case basically just left their sponsor, so it's not really the same. The sponsor is very small and probably can't do much for them anyway, so this leaves them open to new opportunities if they perform well in some competitions.

None of this really says anything about the scene, it's not like "Dota isn't popular so we're dropping this team" it's really just mid-level teams who need to change to compete.Last edit: 2012-09-13 07:17:43 |

Roster shuffles are fairly common. What's special about right now is that the International just ended, which had required a lot of teams to be "locked." We are now seeing a healthy amount of changes + delayed changes from locked teams. |

Its post the international i spose. A stable roster was a requirement from Valve, plus increases your chances in the short run. Now, you have an entire year to build a new, and presumably better team.

This is standard for Dota, it's one of the big reasons why it's such a shaky and unstable scenes. Everyone hopes with Valve's effort at making a standalone Dota this will change, but it should take a long time. |

How is it a shame for them? It's the team that left their sponsor. Infused couldn't give them more like LAN support which is probably the most important thing. Infused sponsored them only with gear like mices, headsets and so on. It's not like the team was fired. |

Yeah but I don't know if a team like that can find a sponsor that easily, that's why I said shame. Most teams are probably going to wait and see how the whole post TI shuffle goes then make a moveLast edit: 2012-09-13 08:42:20 |
